ET Tips Sheet?

Recommended Posts

I couldn't find this in the database. What do we know about it? We found this today going through some stuff out of Aimee's parent's attic.

Pretty cool.

I actually have this too. To the best of my knowledge, it came with the game, at least it was in the boxed E.T. I got a few years ago.

Right, it came with the game:

A text version of the tips sheet can also be found here:

Ok, cool. Thanks. I don't remember this thing coming with the game I got as a kid, but most of my childhood memories are fuzzy, I drank a lot back then. :P

Well, afaik this wasn't in the game right from the initial release, but was included later, propably because they got a lot of questions/complaints about the game.

Yeah, I bought ET when it came out, and it wasn't included then.

Same here. They must have included that in later print runs.

I wish the original release HAD included that -- that looks very handy! It should would have helped my seven year old self out. :P

I got E.T. when it was brand-new. I got to play it early, before Christmas of 1982 and the tips sheet was folded up and stuck in the manual. What you see here is my actual tips sheet:

http://www.randomterrain.com/atari-2600-memories-et-manual.html

Of course, I cleaned it up and got rid of the fold lines, but that's my original tips sheet that came with my new copy of E.T.

That certainly was not the case with all new copies of E.T.

Most of them did not include the tip sheet.

Hi there,

That certainly was not the case with all new copies of E.T.

Most of them did not include the tip sheet.

I think I remember you could send off or call the Atari hotline and have them send it to you. I don't remember it being in my game but I do remember having the sheet. Like Stan though, my memory is fuzzy.

I see... could it be possible that the very first few selections had the tip sheet included, but the christmas ones not have it? Maybe that tip sheet could have made a huge difference in the games popularity if it circulated in each copy of the E.T. game??!

I myself own that sheet, but I don't need it, as I always been good at playing E.T. :)

I even crashed the ship onto E.T. and found little fun tricks out. Such as E.T. if you raise his head

as the alien ship arrives to pick him up... his foot will get stuck outside of the ship.

Then the next screen... shows E.T. missing part of his leg... OUCH!!!!
