Can a NES rf Cable be used with a Genesis 1 ?

Recommended Posts

Yes. The only type of console the NES switch wouldnt work with is a System that has a hard wired cable like the pong systems. Since the NES rf switch has a RF cable hard wirded to it

are they compatible with each other?

An RF cable will work with any console with an RF output.

not the atari... well the NES and other consoles that can use the automatic switchboxes, like the genesis and NES/SNES/N64/GC send a little bit of power down the line too to make the switchbox switch to the game console. the atari doesnt send that little electricity down the line to make the box switch. so not really.

For the VCS/2600 you'd need a female-female rca connector too, but for the Jr (and computers) that's the case. Does the 7800 work with auto-switch boxes?

What kind of switch box were the Jr, 8-bits, and 7800 originally supposed to use? (a manual switch box with an rca cable rated for RF transmission?)

Any system with an RCA jack and uses an automatic swtichbox should be able to use the NES switchbox...some older systems don't put out enough power (or something) so they may give a bad image, or no image when used ( I think coleco would fit the bill, and Intv) Genesis is fine though IIRC.

The 7800 does not work with a NES RF Cable, I tried when I got it since it didn't come with a cable and the picture comes in VERY fuzzy.
