great game just beat it once plan on betting agin sometime anyone else think this is a great and scary game even though it dosen't make sence at times and the endings give no closure to what happened. Also anyone thinking of buying silent hill 3 when it comes out.

AWESOME game- try the first for more thrills/chills! There's a whole school of thought on how SH2 is supposed to be James' inner struggle w/ his personal demons, etc. Ask yourself- what DOES make sense about a psychological mindf**k?

Regardless, I dig all that scary stuff- SH, Fatal Frame, Soul Reaver, etc. I'm sure tons of fans look forward to Silent Hill 3- I know I do!

I'm so sad that I haven't played this game!

If its half as good as the 1st one I'm there (as soon as I can be).

 

I loved it in SH1 on the dark side of town when you're running

down the dark streets and theres a heap of dogs after you.

That first boss was hella scary.

I finished it and got all the endings, Dose SH2 have the same

format?

Seriousely Resident evil had nothing on this one.

 

 

Oh and the Alien ending was FUNNY as S##T.

oh it was just as good as the frist one with like 5 diffeent endings. The only bad thing is that has nothing to do with the frist one. It dosen't really tell what happeed with the cult and stuff bad not ruin the game for you it is a great game

I played Silent Hill 2 and only managed to see one of the endings. Could someone describe to me what happens in the other endings? Just send me a private message so as to not ruin it for anyone else who wants to see the other endings on their own.

I played through the first one and just didn't think it was fun. The story was convoluted and "hazy?" and it just didn't interest me. GREAT backgrounds (When not running through the foggy town) and setting, especially the "alternate" school, THAT part was unbelievable! But the overall experience just left me not wanting more.

 

What's the second one like? I really couldn't STAND running around town in that grainy fog the whole game. I wouldn't mind trying the second one, maybe I'll have to go check it out now that it's not full price.

I played the first and then rented the second one.I got about halfway though with it,then I got the crap scared out of me and I said screw you game,and I played something else.I would like it get it,but it would have to come with a free pair of pants for me to buy it.

Same here...I can't really say that I was scared by Silent Hill 2...tense and nervous maybe, but never scared. For instance, I didn't find myself jumping in my seat or closing my eyes or anything like that. The developers developed the game to toy with your psychological side more than anything with plenty of dreary visuals and appropriate sound effects to trick you into a false sense of fear.

 

The game basically creates a sense of dread and tension due to the fact that everything is dark or obscured, plus the fact that you have to use ammo sparingly and you're pretty physically weak have a lot to do with it.

I was never jumping out of my seat,just freaked out.

yah i hear you but there is nothing "scary" in the game after that but i find myself not really being scared of the game it's self but the idea of it all. Thtas what makes it scary thats what makes a movie scary not that i jump but that find myself not wanting to watch it by myself or i'm scared when i'm going into a room alone or something along those lines. Thats how i found this game which was cool as hell to feel about a game.
