To be clear : if you do no more want to buy a CT63, ok, no problem, but please tell it...

I wait for your answer to know how many boards I have to request to the factory : the guys have to find the parts all around the country and it is not easy for some parts as you may imagine, especially for a small quantity of 25 or 30 ! It takes time to get good prices...

So, the longer time you pass to answer, the longer time it will take to begin to localise the parts...and start production.

 

ANSWER : YES or NO for CT63.

If YES, you have to pay to reserve your board (it is the obnly solution for me to avoid some bad people who speak and do not buy after).

 

And we have a special price for CT63 + CTPCI for 420e instead of 490 (320 + 170).

Its a daughterboard with a 68060 running at 60-90mhz and adds a memory slot for a DIMM....I have 2, both at 512MB and 90mhz. Its pretty amazing. You can turn it off and use the original cpu & memory if you wish. You need to provide ATX-style power to it, which means you have to remove the internal power supply and replace it with an ATX one. Form factor of the atx supplies are problematic, but I bought a very small DC-only ATX power unit, which I put inside teh case, and supplied it with an external brick through a plug in I made in the case.

Absolutely awesome 68060 upgrade board for Falcons.

 

As noted above, it uses an ATX style power connector. I recommend you get a PicoPower DC/DC converter.

They will *just* clear the case, then just mount a DC power jack on the back of the Falcon.

What can you use all that extra power for? Since it came out after the Atari market died there's commercial software for it, and no games can use it that I know of. Am I to assume it's for running homebrew utilities and games? Is there much of that out there?

Just wanted to mention that you can actually run the CT60 faster than 90mhz,

all depending on the stability of your setup. I started out at 97.5 on mine,

then had to slower lower it to 95mhz. I was experiencing random crashes and

lockups at the higher speed.

 

Didier has a water-cooled Falcon that busts 100mhz! <jealous look on face>.

Well, most cleanly written TOS programs will run fine - many will run

after a few "flag" adjustments (what RAM to run from, etc).

 

Several demo's take advantage of the CT60 also.

 

Even the Amiga's demoscene crowd has gotten on board, converting some

of the higher end Amiga demo's to run on CT60 powered Falcons, and they

are impressive! (and the crews say better on a CT60 Falcon). (you can see

some on Youtube).

 

Honestly, its not an overwhelming amount of software, but there is a solid

base of CT60 Falcon users, and people are developing for it - new hardware

continues to come out, etc, etc...also, if you're into MINT or want to be,

a CT60 Falcon rocks with MINT - it flies!

I run mine constant at 95Mhz.... and I'm located at temperature of 30 Celsuis.

Seem to run for 2 hours.... that's the time I have at night for my own.
