homerwannabee #2 Posted April 2, 2010 After 27 years I just got a copy of Galaxian! (it's Homers fault) Now the question,,, To open or not to open... Well remember that Galaxian was part of the O'Sheas stock. Of course they did finally sell all their carts to a smelter, but I would think there are a ton of them in sealed condition. Heck even I have one that is sealed(OK, in the middle of writing that last sentence I realized how much of a stupid statement that was, but decided to finish it anyways). Trinity #3 Posted April 2, 2010 Awe,,, So it's not worth 5K+... But still, The box is in great shape. And it smells like it has been kept in a cedar chest,,, My whole room smells like cedar.

If you are worried pick up another for $3-5 and open the one in worse shape. Or pick up a loose cart for $1-

littleman jack #12 Posted April 3, 2010 That's a great game. I think 4Jays still has some sealed, if you really want a sealed one. When my cousin comes through town, we always break it out and try to beat our high score, which we never seem to be able to beat. 26,000. But we always have a lot of fun. Hope you keep enjoying it. This game can become quite addictive. Yeah your right. I went back to your epic thread, http://www.atariage.com/forums/topic/145094-decided-to-go-after-todd-rogers-galaxian-record-this-summer/page__st__225__p__1850888__hl__homerwannabee galaxian__fromsearch__1#entry1850888 And was reading through some of your pointers on game play, And I read the part about "killing the guys that are trying to kill you, Instead of playing like space invaders". And I have to say THAT WORKS! And it is really zen when they flow down at you like a river and you nail each one... Watched your vid's on you-tube. Amazing, and Hypnotizing! Keatah #23 Posted April 6, 2010 (edited) Yhep! Ain't nothing like opening a few 2600 games, especially the first ones from the original 8. Especially in a humid country style wood panneled basement with a big-ass puke green microwave oven and harvest gold refrigerator and old console tv that weighs like 500 pounds. For bonus effect, you are just learning about integrated circuits and how many tiny parts are in them; like how does all this stuff work! What do those tiny parts look like? Do they move? The *mystery* of electronics! Edited April 6, 2010 by Keatah

tetrode kink #25 Posted April 6, 2010 ...Especially in a humid country style wood panneled basement with a big-ass puke green microwave oven and harvest gold refrigerator and old console tv that weighs like 500 pounds... Eh, as long as you got the "harvest gold" right, that 'puke-green' you speak of is better known as "avocado" in '70s appliance color-speak. For my 2¢, I always thought "avocado" was more like "pea-soup green" and it was harvest gold that more resembled puke. -tet
