+RangerG #1 Posted November 11, 2002 I went to eat with my wife (she had to work), saw some of the downtown parade and decided to stop by the nearby pawnshop on the way home. I haven't found anything Atari in several months, but I found Millipede (which I surprisingly didn't have) and Spitfire Attack (I though it looked like a pirate cart with the white block lettering on the label). I also bought LoLo 3 and Spiritual Warfare (two somewhat rare NES games). It was all expensive ($5 for NES and $4 for Atari), but the labels and carts are in outstanding condition. Well -- a small find, but it sure it great to have a hit again . Isn't it nice to find even just one cart after a dry spell? Did anyone else stop by anywhere during the holiday? CPUWIZ #2 Posted November 11, 2002 I'd love to see that Spitfire Attack, could you post a pic please ?
+RangerG #3 Posted November 11, 2002 CPUWIZ -- Our digital camera is with my wife at work (I can get the camera tonight). However, it looks just like the cart in the archives here on AtariAge. Maybe it is just me, but I saw the end label first and looked like a pirate cart with that big white writing. I just played it and it's an OK game, but I keep dying as I need to practice taking out the oncoming plane (I'm great at taking out the guns on the ground . I guess I just need that rare Milton Bradley gun controller and I'd be a real pilot ace . Take care, RG
CPUWIZ #4 Posted November 11, 2002 Ah, I gotcha, I thought both labels were strange looking. That makes sense because MB didn't actually apply the end-labels to Spitfire Attack and Survival Run. They shipped with the game but the user had to apply the end-label themselfs. Many people didn't bother doing so, that's why they are somewhat difficult to find with the proper end-label. +RangerG #5 Posted November 11, 2002 CPUWIZ -- Thanks for the information -- I had no idea. The cart is in great shape and does have both labels. Any reason why the company didn't put the labels on (cost cutting I guess)?
King Atari #6 Posted November 11, 2002 Nice find there, at least it's unique, same ol' thing here.

+RangerG #8 Posted November 11, 2002 CPUWIZ (or anybody) -- I am putting my new carts away and checking off on my list my two new acquisitions. My master list has Spitfire Attack listed twice -- once with label and once without (like it does with other major label variations). If the cart came with the label and the label was not put on and lost, I wouldn't really consider a cart without a label a separate label variation or even something different for me to want to collect -- what do you think? Now -- I can see if someone had a label-less cart and the unused label, that might be worthy of a second entry . . . hmmm

Both of my Milton Bradley games now have fine looking end lables that I d/led from the fine folks at AtariAge.com!
