OldSchoolRetroGamer #1 Posted April 26, 2010 First, sorry if this is inappropriate and treat this post accordingly if so. I have 2 Colecovisions but it's unlikely I will ever have an ADAM setup. I downloaded the front end and Emulator for the ADAM and I am aware of the downloads at http://www.sacnews.net/adamcomputer/downloads.html but I was wondering is there a place to download disk images for use in the Emulator like : 2010: Graphic Text Adventure (Disk) , ADAM Bomb (Disk)etc? I was just wondering if it was just a case of these images never being dumped? Thanks.
Mark_Coleco #2 Posted April 26, 2010 (edited) Theres a few places for ADAM software, just goto sacnews and goto the links section and then to the ROM section on the links page. Look for ADAM software/roms in the descriptions. http://www.sacnews.net/adamcomputer/sacnews-links/links.html There is also a HUGE archive being put together and will be available soon, by Jim/NIAD. look for his posting soon. Their is the TOSEC collection which has been available through many webpages, torrents, newsgroups, etc. for many years now that contains many useful disk and ddp images for use with ADAM Emulators like ADAMem, MESS and of course the Virtual ADAM FrontEnd for ADAMem. This archive is very small compared to what was actually developed and released back in the day for the ADAM, and all the *.BAS, *.COM, *.LBR, *.*Y* files in the archive need a lot of work converting back and forth to get into a useable disk or DDP image format for use with an emulator. This has probably caused a lot of headaches for people who download it and do not know anything about the ADAM. I have been working with Joe Blenkle (the owner of the webpage mentioned above) and some other long time ADAMites (that's what we called ourselves back in the day) to amass a large collection of Coleco and ADAM material the likes of which hasn't been available on the web previously and when the collection is in a stable form we will be posting further news here as well as other places. It's been a 5 month journey for myself so far getting everything organized and hope to be finished in another month or two. Jim N.

I will be making this collection available on DVD for all those that attend ADAMcon... it may not be finished and may never be, but it's a helluva lot better than what's available now! Plan to get a DVD into Daniel Bienvenu or Bob Slopsema's hands in case I am not able to make ADAMcon in Montreal this June. Jim

Shannon #6 Posted April 27, 2010 Would be nice to see this one make it out. The adam really is neglected in this area and it would be great to see something like this .

NightSprinter #18 Posted July 15, 2010 Count me in, especially if it actually has the Super Game version of Donkey Kong. I've seen videos of it on YouTube, but haven't had a chance to even play an emulated version.

I was just wondering if it was just a case of these images never being dumped? Thanks. The ColecoVision & ADAM Collection is finally available!! This has been a 7 month process to assemble, organize, test, clean-up, etc., etc. While a lot of the stuff came from my personal collection, I had A LOT of help and contributions for Joe B., Mark_Coleco, Steve P., Guy B. and Bob S. (thanks guys), along with the countless other contributions made over the years by others for items such as artwork, instructions manuals, hardware mods, etc. The Collection is housed on MediaFire. The main DL is a spanned ZIP file of 34 parts, sorry I didn't use WinRAR but I couldn't find my copy at that time. There are also two updates that I have posted already along with a FIX file (4 files in the main archive were corrupted). BTW, the collection is over 2Gb!! One thing to be aware of when downloading the individual files is that from time-to-time, 1 or 2 of the files may not be accessible for a couple of days (I guess since the files are not all housed on the same server and sometimes the server is down for maintenance or upgrades). Most people have been able to DL the complete archive without a problem while a handful of others have had to repeatedly attempt to DL 2 of the parts over the course of a couple days before they got them. In a perfect world...... For those not as familiar with the ADAM, I strongly suggest you spend a little time reading through all the A.U.G. Newsletters that are included. There is a tremendous amount of information available in them. Hope everyone gets a lot of enjoyment from this and if you have any questions, I'll do my best to answer them. Pixelboy #22 Posted July 28, 2010 Does the disc that I got at AdamCon 22 contain everything is this 34-part archive? Thank you very much for all your efforts, BTW.
Murph74 #23 Posted July 28, 2010 (edited) Awesome, Jim! THANK YOU! ( Wondering if we're going to be able to load some of these images on to the SD Cart and access them as if they were on a virtual hard drive with the Ultimate SD cart??! If so, then !) NIAD #24 Posted July 28, 2010 Does the disc that I got at AdamCon 22 contain everything is this 34-part archive? Thank you very much for all your efforts, BTW. Yes Luc, the 34 parts are the same as what was included on the DVD that was available at ADAMcon 22. So being that you have that already, just download the two updates that I have posted on the site. I'm currently getting close to finishing up the third update, after which I won't have too much more to add unless some others come forward with contributions. BTW, on the update files READ the extraction instructions first!!! Looking forward to your new CV releases, especially Gulkave. Hope there are no more hurdles for you and all goes as planned. NIAD #25 Posted July 28, 2010 Awesome, Jim! THANK YOU! ( Wondering if we're going to be able to load some of these images on to the SD Cart and access them as if they were on a virtual hard drive with the Ultimate SD cart??! If so, then !) Yes, all the ROM images that are included can be copied to the SD Cart or USB Multi-Cart with no problem. While a lot of the rom images included are from back in the day when I copied them on the ADAM with CopyCart, you will see that a lot more were Dl'ed from the web since 1996 and are pretty much the same as the GoodROM sets. As far as the ADAMnet SD Drive, all the include Digital Data Pack (*.ddp) and Disk (*.dsk) images will work with that as well as any ADAM emulator or even transferred back to an actual ADAM DDP or Disk. The only thing to be aware of is that ADAM emulation thru MESS is no where near complete and it also lack Digital Data Pack emulation. Enjoy!
