WTB: a working PITFALL II

Do you have one that doesn't work? I have had more trouble with Pitfall II than any other Activision cartridge. I have been able to get every single one that I have had to work but sometimes it requires a much tougher cleaning than other Activision carts.

I sold one fully working to an eBayer. The guy says it doesn't work on any of his 3 systems. I've also had trouble with this title... Even though I actually test my games (something I doubt many eBayers actually do) I still get reports of non-working titles. He wants me to mail him another copy BEFORE he sends me the other one back... I've sent him a prepaid return label... I'm looking forward to seeing if it is my cart or a switcharoo. At any rate, I've given my word to replace it... so I'm in the market for another copy. Would rather not give up mine... but if it gets back here and works I guess I'll swap him for the personal copy.

Did you tell them to clean the game...not just by blowing into it?

If I told my buyer to blow it, I don't think they would appreciate it. I did instruct them to use q-tips. Personally, I find they have to be seated just right vertically.

Yes, that's probably the most sensitive game I've seen of all. Always have to give a super thorough cleaning and tweak it in the slot to get it working. Not sure why though.

I had trouble with Pitfall 2 brand new out of the box
