Wanted games starting with U or X

A while back I was going though the games I have (about 240 unique) and realized I had 1 from almost every letter of the alphabet. I just snagged a Zaxxon with manual from eBay ($3.99 shipped) and now just need a U and a X. Not looking too likely without spending some cash. What should I be in for for Xenophobe with instructions or loose, and one of the U games?

 

My other goal is to get all the kids games, preferably with instructions and overlays if they have them. And I do want a snoopy with instructions!

Well there is "Up N Down" & "Universal Chaos" neither of which are cheap games but those are the only NTSC titles with the starting letter "U" for a title. You don't have much of a choice except to spend some good coin getting one or the other if you want to complete a 2600 alphabet of carts. Up N Down is not that hard to get but it does go for $30 to $50 in good shape, it used to go for much more than that in the past. Finding an NTSC Universal Chaos would be a task let alone the price it can command.

You can get a cheap PAL Universal Chaos, but that may not suit your needs. A couple of the Quelle titles start with "U" also some pirates like UFO Patrol. X-man for "X", but that would cost some coin. Cheers, FB

I want to stick with NTSC, so I'll just have to keep my eyes open and hope I get lucky. I REALLY don't want to spend that much on 1 game just because I don't have it and never really wanted it, but you never know!

Your options for X arenot much better. The only 2 i know of are Xenophobe and X-man. Both of which are pretty rare

I don't think I'd ever get a sealed game unless it was common and/or I had it already. I'd just open it up to fondle the contents. From now on, I really want to concentrate on getting cart and instructions (and overlays).

You can come across Xenophobe for cheap if you play the waiting game. I got mine for $8. X-man is a dream, and most likely you will have to pay for it, best to leave that one to the high rollers unless you get super lucky.

 

Up n' Down is also findable in the wild for variable dollars (I got mine for $25 or $30), I haven't ever seen a Universal Chaos, so I am no help there, but if you find some cheap, snag me one....

Hope you find a NTSC one at a good price. Sometimes manuals are hard to find and can almost be as expensive as games. I did a basic search for xenophobe but other results seem to be ebay. Maybe a member here will sell you a copy of their's. Good luck.

welll... the atari 7800 xenophobe is decently cheap... Get that, and a 7800, and up n down, and you'll have an A-Z 7800 compatible collection.

 

Or get a copy of name this game, and name it "Umbral Reckoning".

Up n down is on its way to me now. I'll hold out for a while on xenophobe, maybe I'll get lucky. I have Xevious for 7800... bummer.
