phaxda #1 Posted May 9, 2010 Hi all, I have been having much fun playing Genesis games lately and would like to be able to do so while "on the go" as I have quite the commute these days. I've been looking for a Nomad for awhile, but sellers on eBay really have way of scaring me off of these things with language like "just a few scratches" and "broken battery cover, but its ok" "lines on screen" etc. I would much rather deal with a trusted seller and am willing to pay a bit of a premium for a good system. I have a spare Sega Genesis/CD system (complete with everything needed, including the two power supplies, and a couple of games) that I would be willing to trade. PM me if interested! tetrode kink #2 Posted May 9, 2010 I have several Nomads around here, I'm sure I can spare one... When you say battery, I assume you want the 6-AA battery holder, not the rechargeable one? I have several of those too (both kinds). I rebuild the rechargeable ones, and sometimes I'll buy a Nomad if it comes with one since they're pretty scarce by themselves these days. So I've accumulated a few Nomads now, certainly more than I need. I assumed I'd sell them with refurbed batteries, but that's gone a lot slower than I planned. BTW, you usually don't have to worry when a seller describes "a few scratches on the screen," especially when accompanied by something like, "but it doesn't affect game play" etc. The screen lens is stupid-easy to scratch, and mostly they're talking about tiny scuffs on the surface, that really do disappear when you have a game on. If there are any heavier scratches, you'll likely see them in photos, so you usually know what you're getting. Also, new screen lenses are available on eBay, which you've probably seen. Anyway, it looks like you'd rather trade for one than buy one? The only problem on my end is, I have plenty of Genesis's (Genesi?) too, and a CD, so I don't really need any more of those! But, if you don't get any other takers, and you want to buy one, lemme know and I'll round one up for you. -tet
