Kernal #3 Posted May 11, 2010 any thing in text mode or ncurses should work.. however.. no colour as of yet. just monochrome like a dumb terminal also to get bitchx you have to run it in -d dumb terminal mode
HiassofT #4 Posted May 11, 2010 I was wondering what other apps could i get that would be useful on the atari and the linux box. links2 for browsing the web, mutt for reading/writing emails, slrn for usenet, ncftp or lftp for FTP and of course screen for managing multiple sessions. so long, Hias
Hatta #5 Posted May 11, 2010 How does it deal with text mode graphics characters? I tried this on my Apple II, but the terminal emulation sucked. So all those nice pretty ncurses decorations showed up as control characters.

You can run a real IRC client on your Atari. All you need is Urchlay's FujiChat 0.4, an Atari RS232 interface (or SIO2PC), and SLIP protocol running on your linux box. See here. I can't recall if a modified slattach (for SLIP) is still required or not. (Perhaps Urchlay will give us an update). - Steve Sheppard
Mirage #7 Posted May 11, 2010 Yeah, some sort of tutorial would be nice. I haven't been able to get any connection at all to my XL with the USB version.
