Still alive pokey

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

Again I'm in a middle of a game programming. It's a simple peaceful game and I want to do some sort of little contest to get a pokey version of this tune ("Still Alive") by Jonathan Coulton. I'd prefer in mono using 3 channel voices (one free for sound effects on game), on RMT format.

I found this little midi version, it seems appropriate for a 3 channel pokey conversion.

The original version could be watch on Still Alive original music

Thanks in advanced for your interest.

You're doing a "peaceful" game and you want to use "Still Alive"? icon_dunce.gif

3 possibilities here :

1. He mixes up "peace" with "piece"

2. The game is according to the ironic tune

3. He simply likes the nice melody without knowing the lyrics

On the other hand....

With all the 3D possiblities on the A8..... Isn't it supposed to have a "Portal" game there ?

And the Intro is based on a gr. 10 picture, in the background a full hardsynth is playing and the lyrics were played from the cartridge memory, while the text is scrolling over the screen.....

edit: well, such game would even work well to the gamer. Using gr.9 ....

Just imagine:

You have a grey room .

When shooting the "Portal", you see the portal open. It opens "yellow" (missile overlay)

You jump through the portal into the yellow room.

Now look back to see the grey portal....

Well, you have 16 colours available.... lets's say 6 colours are enough to indicate all possible directions.

The A8 could easily handle this, because you don't need a huge 3D map to calculate with.

So you could use real textures for the walls....

Go on then... you know where the compiler is ;)

I have a half-finished SID version someplace I could probably take the notation and have a go at it...
