Modding a 6-switch 2600 for composite w/o adding or removing anything?

Recommended Posts

I was wondering if there's a way to add composite out to my 2600, but I don't want to remove any resistors or transistors or whatever. I don't want to add any of them either, I'd like to keep the system as intact as possible but I don't mind soldering the wires to the board.

From what I've read I think this is possible, but removing/adding things to the circuit can produce a better picture.

Hi There,

I have just done my PAL 6 switch recently using benhecks guide.

http://forums.benheck.com/viewtopic.php?t=1151

It was really easy. I first just soldered the wires to the board without the resister or potentiometers which gave me a decent picture.

I later made up a small board with the resisters and potentiometers on it and now the picture is a lot better. I drilled the Atari case and added RCA female connectors but you could just run cables out the back with RCA male connectors on them so as to not mod the case.

One of the easiest mods I found to do this without removing any original components on the board.

I think i want to try this mod too beacuse I still got problems with bad picture quality that I talked about in this topic: http://www.atariage.com/forums/topic/183421-6-switch-2600-fires-anomatically/

But i don´t really know how to do it beacuse the circuit board on my atari looks diffrent from the circuit board on benhecks guide.

here is a picture of mine:post-30021-0-66282000-1309315326_thumb.jpg

Does someone know where i should solder the audio and chroma cables on my circuit board?
