Normal border space on SM124 Monitor

What is the normal black border space on a good working SM124 monitor? 1", 1.5", ???

Whatever it is, it's way too much.

 

My one was modded before I received it (I sold my original one). Very popular with the mono monitors to modify them so that the borders shrank down to a minimal size, so if your monitor looks "weird" in that way, it's likely due to a deliberate act to improve it.
