Intellivision Reset Button Problem

Hi all,

 

I just obtained an Intellivision a few months ago. The other day, I noticed the reset button was extending out of the console more so than usual to the point where its spring was visible. I'm not sure what caused this, but is there any way that I can fix this? I've included some pictures to help illustrate this. Other then it looking like this, it has worked fine for the most part, except once where it seemed that the reset button was stuck and wouldn't allow the system to function properly. I did get it unstuck just by pressing on it a few times, but it is still extending out more than what I remember.

Most likely the press-on spring retainer has moved.

So I should simply be able to move it back into place by opening up the console?

Yes. Just remove the console top and push back up on the retainer while holding the reset button. Don't push too far or the reset button will be stuck "on". If it keeps falling down, a dab of glue helps.
