chrisbid #2 Posted June 13, 2010 or a discussion on NES baseball games in general my top three bases loaded rbi baseball baseball stars my bottom three bo jackson baseball bases loaded 3/4 baseball pros (quattro sports) the original nes baseball game is pretty bad, but i grade it on a curve against baseball games on pre-nes systems rather than later nes games. it does ok for itself when you look at it that way. DickNixonArisen #3 Posted June 13, 2010 I contracted dyslexia from the flashing crowd. Most of these games actually look really good.
Austin #4 Posted June 13, 2010 (edited) I'm not much of a sports fan myself (gaming or not), but when I was a kid, I admit to playing quite a few.. RBI Baseball was actually one of the only games my Dad would play with me. Many good times with that one! Overall the video compilation itself was cool. I like how you displayed primarily just the home run scenarios (Seriously, what else is needed? ). The only thing I may suggest looking into is that white background around the footage.. Not sure if there's a way to change that or not (Black would seem more fitting since YouTube already wraps the video in its own black box of sorts). uglyclone #5 Posted June 13, 2010 nes home run derby tell me what you think I like it! It was good to get a quick look at each baseball game. I find it amazing there are so many baseball titles for the NES. There are also a handful of solid baseball titles on the Famicom that the NES never saw. My favorite baseball game on the NES is Little League Baseball. I always thought that one was underrated, but then again I mainly love it for nostalgic reasons I hope you post more videos on youtube! Video #6 Posted June 13, 2010 I love how Camerica's baseball shows it fowling out and still gives the homerun I have played a large number of those, and have them, it's nice how you had a choice with the NES, not like today where there's only one game, and if you don't like it, tough. My favorite game was RBI, I have all three, but the first one still has that charm that none of the other baseball games quiet got for me. I don't know, everything there just "clicked" for me. Still play it any time I actually have a NES setup. Baseball was cool, yeah, it's old (like a famicom release, I think) but it still was an OK game. Video #8 Posted June 14, 2010 (edited) Yep,just about all those old consoles have a border. They counted on the fact that most people's TV's were a bit relaxed and you'd never actually see it. Of course, there's the other direction, where developers used every last bit of screen real estate, even though it wouldn't bee seen on many TV's of the day (the Jaguar was an offender there ) The worst offender for Borders IMO was Commodore 64, I love the machine, but it just drove me nuts that half the screen is a border....Kinda like Atari, except on the 64, they could change the colors.
