Toraborakid #1 Posted June 12, 2010 Hi all, I was thinking about selling my Japaneese neo geo AES with 8 games and an extra joystick but i want to know what its really worth to a dedicated gamer the system itself is in working order and is clean. some of the games i have for the system are: 1: nam (i know common) 2: king of the monsters 3: magician lord 4: fatal fury special 5: samuri showdown japaneese version 6: samuri showdown 2 and 2 other titles that i will post later. btw: guys if the numbers are right i would consider selling. And if u live in the ny/nj/philly area i would be glad to show u in person that this system works.
the.golden.ax #2 Posted June 12, 2010 This isn't an offer... You have around $300 in value there unless the other two games are something really special. Best of luck in your sale. AX
robertwallace75 #3 Posted June 12, 2010 You could try selling it at www.neo-geo.com, browse the forums there and check the price guide. Depending on what version of the games you have, the prices vary. Japanese games are a bit cheaper than some Euro or US releases, the condition of your games, and completeness will determin price also. http://www.neo-geo.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=12 Price guide: http://www.neo-geo.com/guides/menu.html Good luck! the.golden.ax #4 Posted June 12, 2010 Personally, I'd steer clear of neo geo dot com if you have a choice. Most of the marketplace dealings there are for the elite who are part of the bigger better bad ass club. AX

Unless you have a good amount of postings, chances are your listing will be removed by the moderators as being "shady".. Prior to that, you don't even have the power to *post* new threads, period, until you reply to several.. not even in general chat forums are you allowed to post new threads, and posting in the marketplace features even stricter guidelines. Afterward, once that's all said and done, you still have the moderators to deal with who may very well remove your for sale posting even after you have built some rep (Like my WTB post I added). It's a royal pain in the ass and probably not worth it unless you're one of the "elite". Seriously though, if I had a good bit of money to blow and your system is complete, I would buy it from you for $300, but alas, I don't.. In this case, eBay will probably be your best friend.. I could see you easily getting that there. Someone else here may even be interested if you can provide some selling feedback and some quality photos, though! Blackbag #6 Posted June 12, 2010 I agree with everything else said, especially about neo-geo.com. You won't get through the front door there if you just want to sign up and sell something. One thing to add-- I did spend some time there searching through the forum posts when I was putting together my first arcade cabinet with a neo-geo board, and I do recall that some AES systems are more wanted than others. Apparently some of the earlier versions of the AES had better components and had a noticeably better video output versus some of the later ones. Based on the serial number, you could figure out which version you had. All this is from memory, but before you sell I would spend a couple minutes looking up that information, as it might bring in a little more money on your sale. Also, I noticed in my reading that the AES games are certainly more expensive than the arcade MVS system, especially if you have everything in nice condition and complete. Good luck! the.golden.ax #7 Posted June 12, 2010 Yeah I've heard that too on the video quality. I have #18999 and it looks really sharp on my mothers 32" screen using standard a/v. I got it in the original gold box with two sicks and 6 launch titles for $330 on the eBay. Currently looking for an XNEO-1 unit for s-video without having to mod. When I'm back in my own place I'll try my hand at a neo geo video and bios mod. AX

coyo5050 #9 Posted June 13, 2010 You got a great deal Ax for a boxed gold system with games. It is true about neo-geo.com. Tough crowd there and honestly they overvalue the stuff there since they are so obsessed with neo geo. Took me months of posting there and buying a few things before anyone paid any attention to me.. Chris Leach #10 Posted June 13, 2010 This might be a little off topic, but I remember I got banned from Neo-geo forums for posting a flea market find in the right spot. I took some pics and since the find was bigger than some of their ego's..they started calling me names and I left there being banned for posting my awesome neo geo find here in michigan... Almost forgot about that...but they didnt band my IP address...only my name..WTF? Are they computer guys or just a fraternity of Neo Geo users?
