macdlsa #1 Posted June 17, 2010 (edited) Mac's Arcade ... in other words: the part of my garage I converted into "small tavern / gaming room”. The place has a fairly small area (3x3 m) but I designed and prepared a series of cabinets, shelves and other things to create a themed environment... Begin to say the place is newly built (May 2009), as well as all the building and consequently its four apartments; one of them is OBVIOUSLY mine… oh, well, hehe: the apartment is rather monopolized by my TWO women (my wife and our daughter) while the basement is exclusively mine! Overseeing, for what I compete, the realization of the electrical system , I decided to put a good number of local outlets, TV and network which is connected to my cable modem / router home, so I can also have an Internet Connection (wi-fi did not work up to down there...). Unfortunately the plumber denied me the possibility of having a heating element connected to the boiler in the house, due to the really exaggerated distance that separates garage (located in the basement) from the apartment (1st floor)! In any case I can rely on a small stove fuel, "inherited" from my previous garage, which does not take much but at least avoids furniture, appliances and, last but not least, guest’s skin to freeze, raising in about two hours the internal temperature of 5-8 C degrees compared to the rest of the garage... SO, here it is ! What it was just before and,at the bottom right, just after the move... As for my previous "Gameroom" (my old garage, visible link http://picasaweb.google.com/macdlsa/MacDLSAGameRoom # along with photos of the construction of my cruiser Dragon's Lair - replication and other "little things"...) I decided to paint all the basement with a not too "heated" yellow hue. Then I applied the "skirting" of the same type that I made before for the apartment (cherry wood). And here is the mini game room inaugurated with my two "big" cabs: ... Space Ace - EURO on DLcab and "Willow" on MAMEcab! Testing positive ! And the “expert” of my family for the occasion has preferred a version of Space Ace in the USA "Enhanced" release . Other pictures of the Mac's Arcade (not so good iPhone quality...) macdlsa #11 Posted August 14, 2010 My new cab is alive ! It came from an idea born in a awake night while I was watching the true sci-fi movie "2001 : A Space Odyssey"... WIP at http://picasaweb.google.com/macdlsa/MacSMONOLITHMultiEmulatorArcadeCabinet# The cab is still in a "Beta" state, 'cause it lacks of a good and well-configured FrontEnd, the marquee artwork and the trackball (that will be mounted right in the center of the ControlPanel, where there's that "big" hole...)
