i had the choice between alan wake and this so i gave it a shot, i had been eyeballing it for awhile.

 

it's awesome. i'm only about an hour in but the atmosphere is amazing, it feels unlike any fps i've played before. you're not a bullet sponge, regular enemies can rip your ass apart. your weapons and equipment, to put it bluntly, are shit but it makes sense in the context of the universe. you must keep your flashlight charged and you need to keep an eye on your gas mask filter. it's fairly realistic in alot of ways.

it's a cool game. i don't think it's for everybody but it's certainly worth at least a rental.
