Did Salu use EPROMs for their carts ?

Recommended Posts

These Salu carts are very common in Europe , I have over 1000 of the game Pick n Pile for example , they produced lots of these carts because the 2600jr was still sold here in the early 90s.

Now,their are still large quantities of some games (not-so-well-known games).

The question is - because it´s impossible to sell them all - did they use EPROMs in the carts making it easier to create homebrewn games.

These carts aren´t easy to open,so I didn´t check it.

Maybe it would be possible to create NTSC versions of games like Pick n Pile.

I´ve already checked some of the Telegames games such as Bump n Jump and these carts contain EPROMs and they´re easy to open.AFAIK Bump n Jump is an 8K EPROM.

I also have Quest for Quintana Roo and Kung Fu Superkicks from Telegames and they may contain EPROMs,too.

The only question is,if it´s easier to use such boards+carts for homebrewn games or if it´s still difficult to make 8K games.

AFAIK you don´t need to rewire something because it´s already an EPROM an the cart.
