Karyyk #3 Posted July 13, 2010 This looks like what the absolutely dismal Wing Commander Arena should have been (that's my worst XBLA purchase to date). This looks interesting...
Nukey Shay #4 Posted July 13, 2010 How can they return? Everybody died except for Talby (who got assimulated).
moycon #5 Posted July 13, 2010 Maybe they learned a thing or two from Jason Voorhees and Michael Myers?
Cybergoth #6 Posted July 13, 2010 It's a 5 year old german PC game. A pretty good one though.
Cybergoth #7 Posted July 16, 2010 It's a 5 year old german PC game. A pretty good one though. I just saw that you can download the PC version DRM free for $5 from gog.com this weekend.

Zeptari1 #9 Posted July 20, 2010 i think it came out today... anyone get it?
+save2600 #10 Posted July 20, 2010 The battling in outer space looks great, but I wouldn't care for the character development/action or plot at all. Seems so many modern games are bent on being a hodgepodge of genres these days.
Chuck D. Head #11 Posted July 20, 2010 How can they return? Everybody died except for Talby (who got assimulated). +1 for that reference. The only reason I clicked on this thread was on the odd chance someone actually made a game out of that movie; could be fun, blowing up unstable planets, surfing the phoenix asteroids, "feed the alien" mini-game......Morgan
xg4bx #12 Posted July 22, 2010 heres another review. http://www.joystiq.com/2010/07/22/review-darkstar-one/ There is a lot to do. I played for 18 hours (over the span of two days, mind you) and I managed to uncover just around half of the 300 star systems on the map. I can't promise you won't occasionally be irritated by mission and dialog repetition, but the quantity is definitely there. 4.5/
+Cobra Kai #13 Posted February 15, 2011 Just found out about this game. I've only played it for a couple of hours, but it kind of seems like a real successor to Star Raiders. I mean, you tell me the Star Map in your logbook doesn't make you think of Star Raiders. The game seems very open ended, so I'm looking forward to putting more time into it. Zeptari1 #14 Posted February 22, 2011 I'm thinking of picking this up tomorrow. I'm in the mood for something different on xbox. I haven't played a game like this in a long time. I'm surprised this thread isn't longer... -rick
+Cobra Kai #15 Posted February 22, 2011 After playing this for 10 hours or so, I will say that it's quite boring. I'm going to play it sporadically, but I don't envision any marathon playing sessions. It's a neat game, and very large, but I'm not impressed with the customization of the ship like I thought I'd be. The weaponry isn't that impressive, especially your main laser/s. Ryanw #16 Posted February 22, 2011 I've been so deprived of space combat this generation that I might give this one a go. Has anyone heard of any other space shooters like this coming out any time soon?
Metal Ghost #17 Posted March 1, 2011 I posted this in the Deal Alert as well, but I thought I'd mention it hear as well: if you have a Five Below store nearby, they have this game on sale this week for $5.
madmax2069 #18 Posted March 2, 2011 when i looked at the Youtube video in the first post when it first started it reminded me of eve online until it showed gameplay (in cockpit).

Ryanw #20 Posted May 1, 2011 Still had a dozen copies at Five Below when I went this week. So far so good!
Zeptari1 #21 Posted May 3, 2011 I just started playing it last week... it's an ok game... would have been much better if they didn't screw up the flight controls.I would say this game is geared more for the hardcore space sim crowd. Still a good game. And at $5, a steal! -rick
