ATAR-REWIND Podcast Segment

Recommended Posts

ATAR-REWIND is a new segment on RetroGamingRoundup.com dedicated to all things Atari 2600. I will discuss everything from the hidden gems of the Atari 2600’s game catalog to some of its strange and weird accessories and peripherals. Atari lore and programmer interviews will also be a big part of this new segment. Our first interview will be with CBS’s Tunnel Runner Creator and Programmer, Mr. Dick Balaska. Look for more interviews from some of Atari’s lesser-known game creators as the months go by.

ATAR-REWIND will debut in the soon-to-hit July 2010 RetroGamingRoundup.com podcast.

We are also scheduled to get tons of interviews with other gaming greats at CGE so we will have interviews for each episode of RGroundup to roundout the year.

Definitely a cool idea Mike, we're always looking for more Atari goodness in a podcast. Do you mean it will always be interviews in the Atari section of RetroGamingRoundup? (I'm personally not a big fan of interviews unless they are editted well ... people tend to ramble)

I was going to make Atar-Rewind flip flop every other month with my It Came From Mame segment, but think I will try and have Atar-Rewind every month because it's going to be a blast to produce and record and there is so much to talk about. This segment will run anywhere from 15 minutes to an hour depending on the subject matter. The premier segment was going to be on Lost Gems of the Atari 2600 Gaming Catalog, but it may get replaced with the Dick Balaska, Tunnel Runner, interview. But he and I haven't worked out a time yet so probably will miss the July show which we are trying to get out this weekend. So the interview will more than likely be used in August.

I am planning to track down some of the lessor known game programmers and interview them as we've all heard interviews from the obvious ones.

Sounds good. Just remember not do do any heavy breathing like with Jerri Ellisworth(heh), or do it at a pub like Retro Gamer did with their interviews(making them real difficult to hear).

Awesome! I'm happy to hear about this new segment. And just when I thought the best podcast on the net couldn't get any better... :)
