Heaven/TQA #2 Posted July 23, 2010 (edited) I really love RG so much... look again on the cover with Rainbow Island... so marvelous... (and let me see if I will get my issue delivered in time... which reminds me to renew my subscription) I mean the whole team loves gaming and esp. OLD! gaming... (best part on the front cover is always the OLD! sign instead of NEW! haha) Edited July 23, 2010 by Heaven/TQA

+Philsan #7 Posted July 23, 2010 I really like "OLD" sign too. According to Retro gamer, good Raibow Island conversions are for (in alphabetic order): Amiga, Atari ST, C64, PC Engine CD, ZX Spectrum.

Tickled_Pink #9 Posted July 23, 2010 and the ST version I have played to death... so great conversion... A fantastic conversion. Never managed to get all the way through it despite hours and hours of play. Was never a Bubble Bobble fan but Rainbow Islands on the ST I did like. Wish I had the space to set up an ST for another rainbow hopping blast.
snicklin #10 Posted July 31, 2010 I always looked at this game and wished that it had been converted to the Atari 8 bits. They may struggle with all the colours on-screen though. As for Retro Gamer, I've got a subscription going and I'm collecting the old mags off eBay.
Madaracs #11 Posted August 2, 2010 As for Retro Gamer, I've got a subscription going and I'm collecting the old mags off eBay. I love that rag and subscribe as well. Somebody set us up the bomb. Here is another option (though I can appreciate wanting the physical copy) you can get the archive that they release which has all of the last year's subscription in PDF format. Great reading on an iPad with GoodReader. I do have a couple of complaints about the magazine though: 1. Wish they didn't pimp the Amstrad, Spectrum and BBC Micro so much... but I realize it's a UK rag. I wish I could get some backers in the U.S. to publish a competing magazine. I'd love to write for it.
Heaven/TQA #12 Posted August 2, 2010 O. Good idea to throw the pdfs on my iPad... Simply Drag and Drop of The pdfs?
Madaracs #13 Posted August 4, 2010 O. Good idea to throw the pdfs on my iPad... Simply Drag and Drop of The pdfs? Sorry for the late reply... If you get GoodReader ($.99) you can drag and drop them in iTunes. There are directions on the GoodReader site.

Benighted #16 Posted August 8, 2010 I am still in the process for getting through the 79th issue of RG. I was quite amazed to find it at a local magazine-kiosk. It was quite expensive, but I bought it anyway. I totally fell for the RA cover :-) Played the unforgiving game to death on the A500. Never tried the ST version though. If you order a subscription it's like $80 for 12 issues right now. $6.60 an issue is better than the $10 they get at the news stand. You can also buy them for your iPad or iPhone at $2 a pop. Madaracs #19 Posted August 9, 2010 subscriptions are actually £ 80.00 (~US$128) wish it really were only US$80 No, they are running a special right now. They do that every so often. I got my subscription on special 6 months ago. I'll see if I can locate the coupon or link or whatever it was I saw.

I'd love to write for it. They've had a policy since the last two issues that there must be more US based stories (see the letters page in Issue 77), this basically means more Atari stories. They've also left in a lot of British stories. I'm happy both ways.

Look on their website and see if you can buy the DVD with the PDFs... then you can read them on the Android.
