SlowCoder #1 Posted July 26, 2010 (edited) Yeah, I'm asking a bunch of questions ... Don't beat me up, please. I would like to know where I could get my hands on a test cartridge? If not an original, is there an aftermarket one available, or is there some way of putting a test cart ROM on a blank? +Random Terrain #4 Posted July 27, 2010 Do you mean you want to test an Atari 2600 game that you are working on? If so, why not buy a Harmony cartridge: http://harmony.atariage.com/

It's much better than the real one.
SlowCoder #6 Posted July 27, 2010 Wow, the Harmony cartridge looks pretty dern cool. Unfortunately I don't have $60 to pull out of my rear end at this time. I'll definitely keep it in mind though
ls650 #7 Posted July 28, 2010 It would be cheap at twice the price.
A.J. Franzman #8 Posted July 28, 2010 (edited) You can purchase a test cart in the AA store, at the beginning of September. It's much better than the real one. I wouldn't call it better... just different. It's more capable, as far as testing controllers -- which would make it more useful to an average user. But for a repair tech, it's missing several features of the Atari DTCs that come in quite handy. Edited July 28, 2010 by A.J. Franzman
SlowCoder #9 Posted July 28, 2010 (edited) The primary reason I desire a testcart is because I'm considering a composite mod, and I'd want to be able to adjust my color. And at this point, I might as well ask what type of video quality improvement is there after this upgrade? Edited July 28, 2010 by SlowCoder
