Cupcakus #2 Posted November 22, 2002 That's a REALLY good compilation... best ever I think.... Dangit it's only for PS/2 :-(
Flojomojo #3 Posted November 22, 2002 Cupcakus, you need a PS2. Then you can play all these neo-classics like Ico, Rez, VF4, Kingdom Hearts, Mad Maestro, Wipeout Fusion, Baldur's Gate Dark Alliance, and lots more. It's true the machine doesn't have any "soul," but it's got so much software for it it's impossible to resist.
+Atarius Maximus #4 Posted November 22, 2002 Previously Unreleased on any Activision Compilation Baseball I wonder which "baseball" game they included? As far as I know, Neither Activision or Imagic released a baseball game! AM
Flojomojo #5 Posted November 22, 2002 Hmmm, good point. Here's a screenshot, scanned from the manual (which is where I got that list).

Flojomojo #7 Posted November 22, 2002 Hmpf, my memory is playing tricks on me. I thought for sure that PRB was a "red box" Atari game. Thanks, Ken.
King Atari #8 Posted November 22, 2002 PSR was an Absolute game, I'm guessing Activision bought they're 2600 games up along with Imagic's. What? No Double Dragon on that compilation?
+Atarius Maximus #9 Posted November 22, 2002 Ahhh! That's Pete Rose baseball from Absolute Entertainment. I think Absolute was started by a guy from Activision.

Beamrider was available on Activision's Commodore 64 15 Pack. Perhaps they meant any previous Activision 2600 Compilation? If so, they should have been more explicit. ..Al

Beamrider was available on Activision's Commodore 64 15 Pack. Not the 2600 version. I think that's a reasonable interpretation of "previously unreleased." Rhindle The Red #13 Posted November 24, 2002 What? No Double Dragon on that compilation? I actually did a hack of Double Dragon (changing the title to Double Dukes) so it was definitely meant for release. I believe it was meant for download and was therefore lost when Internet connectivity was cut. As usual, if there's a problem, blame Sony! Psst! Neanderthal tickler? SS #15 Posted November 24, 2002 I wonder if Ken would consider releasing your hack on Activision's website. I really have a hard time believing that, with the online portion of the Anthology gone, Activision would freely put up any ROMs (hacks or not) on the company website. I am hoping that they do “officially” look the other way and allow AA and/or AtariProtos.com to release them.
AtariDude #16 Posted November 25, 2002 Does anyone know why the Activision Anthology website is not accessable anymore? It is listed on the back of the case but when I try to access it, Apache comes back with a message that mentions that I do not have permission to access this server. I understand that Sony nixed the idea of certain games being available from the website but why is the entire site now no longer available? Was it a matter that maybe they were busy when I made the request or is there more to it?

gavv #19 Posted November 25, 2002 activisionanthology.com hasn't been 'available' for quite a while. i went there many times in the last couple/few weeks thinking that was the place to get info about the game, but it had the 'permission' error. My guess, is that that is part of 'how' Activision is keeping the internet accessibility from the game cut out, in case they couldn't be 100% sure that the game code was disabled. kinda makes it difficult to have just an info site ^^. gavv
Rhindle The Red #20 Posted November 25, 2002 Given that in this thread, Ken Love says to "Keep your eyes peeled for the Activisions web site", I think we can assume that it's not ready yet. Sony dicking them over concerning the online content most likely required a reworking of the site. I'm sure it will be up soon. More grapes for your king! Rhindle The Red #24 Posted November 27, 2002 I actually did a hack of Double Dragon (changing the title to Double Dukes) so it was definitely meant for release. Cool! Did you change anything else besides the title? Nope. It looks and plays so little specifically like Double Dragon that it really could be any generic side scrolling beat-em-up, so no graphic changes were necessary. Whether changing the name was considered enough to pass legal muster, I don't know, but I did work on it and it was meant for some kind of release. Well, I'll leave the romance up to you. Except, of course, for the orgy tonight.
