Does anybody have an extra TurboGrafx controller for trade?

Recommended Posts

Ahh - fellow TG-16 fans... I love you guys already. If I had extra controllers, I would give you both one... but I don't... so I'll give you this website:

http://www.tzd.com/forsale.cgi

It's "TurboZoneDirect" - they apparently bought out all the extra TG-16 stuff left here in the States? and are now selling the new old stock. They're a little expensive - but I have had some dealings with them - and they've been nothing but professional, and FAST.

They've also got brand new Turbo Expresses for 150 - which is quite a bit - but still cheaper than what I've seen used ones go on ebay. I've got a used one, and I LOVE it - still the best handheld ever!

Always admired the system from afar, only now able to afford collecting for it. I pondered ordering from TZD now and then, but it's the price point that really holds me back. On the other hand, that copy of Somer Assault looks really nice.. if anyone happens to have a broken controller and could salvage the rubber start/select button piece, I'd be eternally grateful and willing to trade for it, not to encroach on benjam138's territory here. :D

What is exactly wrong with the controller?

The #2 button doesn't work. I took it apart and tried cleaning it out, but to no avail. Do you know how I can fix it?

Well, there's only a few things that can be wrong. 1st, make sure the wires are connected to the board inside the controller and connected well.2nd, check the end to make sure the metal pins are all there - sometimes they will pull out and get stuck in the system port.3rd, make sure the little rubber pad on the back of the #2 button is making good contact on the board. Really, that's about all you can do. I will dig around to see if I still have some extras laying around. Let me know if any of that works.

Is there any way to test a TG controller without a TG? I have 2 controllers

that I have never tested, they came with a lot of other stuff.

I'm vaguely guessing the use of a multimeter might help in that regard. Simply place one lead on a pin in the plug and then touch the lead to any of the numerous contacts on the controller's circuit board until you get a connection.
