SlowCoder #1 Posted August 3, 2010 I thought about using a fine sandpaper. If I did, I'm sure it would shine up nice. But what to do to keep the oxidation of the newly exposed metal down? Other options?
fiddlepaddle #2 Posted August 3, 2010 Silicon spray, let dry, wipe.
A.J. Franzman #3 Posted August 3, 2010 Polishing 2600 toggle switches? They're slide switches, not toggle switches (a toggle switch's lever pivots inside the switch body, while a slide... slides). Any clear durable spray product should keep corrosion at bay for a while. Krylon Triple Thick may have an edge in durability.
tremoloman2006 #4 Posted August 4, 2010 I just use 0000 Steel Wool. Spin a piece around a switch a few times and it looks as good as new!
tetrode kink #5 Posted August 4, 2010 Hey trem, not that I disagree with you, but why would you, when advising the use of steel wool, provide a picture of shredded wheat biscuits??? -tet
SlowCoder #6 Posted August 4, 2010 I ended up using a green Scotch scouring pad and it worked great.
