Video Game Store Directory

Do you enjoy taking long drives with aspirations of finding that perfect find at a video game store be it local or hours out of the way?

Well,

This thread is going to be based off the idea of just that. Maybe you live in Florida and have hit what you think is every video game store on the east coast....just to come up with nothing new in months. I would like to see this thread develop into all known stores n your area. They may not have to be known for video games, but you have scored something big there at least once and would reccomend them to a friend if they were to ask. Maybe you ran out of friends in your area, well now you can share with all of your friends here at AtariAge.com.

Where do you find your favorite video games or where would you recommend to your closest gaming buddies?

Please post your local game stores here and I will update the first thread to show everyone where they are....

I will start with Michigan...

Here are the only two in Windsor, Ontario that I know of. Both are owned by the same family:

Game Cycle

472 Tecumseh Road East,

Windsor, ON N8X 2R8

519-253-3832

Game Cycle 2

4861 Tecumseh Rd E,

Windsor, ON N8W 1K8

519-915-1097

There are 3 EB's as well but I won't bother listing them. Game Cycle is the only one that carries anything earlier than PS2 and XBox. They have everything from Atari on up but some prices border on insane. Others are pretty good.

New Jersey:

Digital Press Store - 87 Piaget Ave (Route 45 E), Clifton, NJ 07011 - (973)-772-1111

Swap - 712 US-1, Edison, NJ - (732)-572-5556

Turnabout Inc - 93 Center Street, Garwood, NJ 07027 - (908)-789-2076

We've Got Freakin' Video Games - 1700 Nottingham Way, Hamilton, NJ 08619 - (609)-910-4019

There's a place in the Columbus Farmers Market indoors. I think his name is Lewis. Not sure what he has to do with it, but I've seen him working at the Freakin' Video Games store before.

There's one place inside Englishtown Flea Market. Out of all the ones I've listed here, this one is the smallest. Very small. Almost not worth a trip. He sometimes gets in rarities from Japan, but newer stuff. PS2 and above usually.

Here's another Canadian store.

TOYRATT

781 Main Street East, Unit 10,

Milton, Ontario

I haven't been to this new location, but their older (and much smaller) location was filled with great finds. Prices can be a little all over the place, but not too hard to find good deals. Owner is extremely friendly.

The owner posts videos on YouTube for new items that come in stock. It's a great way to keep up to date without constantly driving to the store.

Before anyone asks, I have absolutely no affiliation with the store. They've just treated me well in the past and would love to send the some business!

It's been a few years since I've been down there so I don't know if they are still around.. Their address still comes up as the first result on Google, though, so maybe they are still there. They had two locations last I was there, this is just one of them.

Ok the stores that are in the flea markets of Columbus NJ & englishtown NJ.

are owned by 2 guys Keven & mike, Both the stores are called video nuts, same owners.

they had a 3rd store that closed in branchburg on rte. 206.

A side note: if u are looking for a boxed Adam computer these guys have it and yes its complete.

The other store SWAP On rte. 1 in Edison NJ. is an ok store but this guy is under great delusion that combat and other Atari 2600 commons are worth $7 loose (no shit call and ask).

As for the condition of the loose carts i have found a lot of dirt on the ( more then just dust ) and are not kept well to a point where the labels are close to falling of the carts.

There consoles are WAY TO EXPENSIVE! Would u pay $65 dollars for a Atari 2600 no box that is totally dirty to a point that it like it has been through a Monster truck rally?

Now don't get me wrong i like this guy hes ok but way to high on prices..

Sorry for the rant just had to get it out there.

and for another good out door flea market is held at the meadowlands sports complex a.K.A giants Stadium. every Saturday.

Can you tell me if the owner is a middle eastern guy with a kid?

The pictures I've seen of the store look like another store that closed up. This guy has had stores open since the 90's. He's always been overpriced. He first opened in North Brunswick, NJ. Then moved to East Brunswick. He opened a second location in the Route 18 flea market. He closed both of those, and I keep thinking this is him again.

He was looking to go out of business and have someone help him sell his stuff on eBay. Problem is his prices are way overpriced. He wants me to do all the legwork: take 20 or 30 pics a day, post to eBay, handle shipping, etc. He'll give me part of the sale, but out of that I have to pay for the stupid eBay listing too. Not worth it I told him.

KEVIN.. yes. I know him. I always forget his name, though. He wears glasses I think. I bought a bad Atari 2600 there. It would never keep color on the screen.. usually black and white. They took it back no problems and I went and bought a unit from Digital Press store. Works fantastic.

The guy in Englishtown I was referring to is an asian couple with a tiny store.

That next level store looks nice. I must go soon.

Yes this guy is middle eastern Egyptian to be exact, he told me he had a store in bensonhurst Brooklyn but he was being made to pay (protection) so he went to various flea markets around ny/nj area then opened up swap.

We might have to get a pic of him to prove this..

but the guy does look like kalied sheik Mohammad.

Kevin and Rob..... I got mix feelings about them two.. For many years Kevin had the most connections at Columbus most people held their games in their trunks until he came around. I've seen him pick up some real gems!!

Rob used to set up outside and have a bunch of kids run around the market buying all the vintage games up. Then he would give them a few bucks for doing so. One day I was at his table these kids had a bunch of atari 2600 games that they tossed on the table and I over heard Rob say I have never seen this one before. So I looked over a saw it was Lochjaw!! I kept my mouth closed until he was going to give the kids nothing for the games and the kids wanted a few more bucks for them. I turned to the one kid and told him I would give him everything I had in my wallet for that game. His eyes bugged out and Rob was pissed. at the end I didn't walk on Rob's feet and he got the game. Which I should of he ended up being a real dick of a person. I will have no problem in the future to get in his way for something like this!!!!
