Study: Violent Video Games are Good for Kids

Shit I could've told you when I was 12.

I don't doubt that violent video games can be useful to vent anger and frustration. Hell, it has helped me. But I will also not let my young child play Saw or Gears of War just because of this study. I respect the rating system that stands, and once I believe my child is old enough to not piss himself with fear after playing a horror survival game or try to sneak up on me and shank me like in Splinter Cell, my kid will be playing TMNT and Boom Blox or something.

They needed a study to know this? I'm with rev rob. Violent games are a great outlet for frustrations in real life. And to be truthfull, even as a kid, I saw the use of violent games in keeping me less violent in real life :P

Kinda like "no shit, tell us something we don't already know"

I guess it takes one BS study to fight another one in court.

Don't get me wrong, I'm against video game sales restrictions, but 'violent games are good for kids' isn't a great way to play that hand.

I won't even let myself play horror survival games.

I still get a heart attack playing Rescue on Fractalus!
