Underball #1 Posted August 3, 2010 everywhere I've searched just shows the old link to Chad Schell's site where it was posted that no longer exists. Just picked up a new 7800 that has the rolling problem with Robot Tank and Space Shuttle and wanted to fix it.
Rex Dart #2 Posted August 3, 2010 I don't have the info either, but have you tried archive.org or google's cache?
Classic Pac #3 Posted August 3, 2010 I just Googled his name and found this http://www.schells.com
gdement #4 Posted August 3, 2010 I just Googled his name and found this http://www.schells.com His site is there but the page http://www.schells.com/7800mod.shtml isn't there anymore. Actually it's weird all the links I found are 'shtml' instead of a normal 'html', but the latter doesn't work either. Internet Archive says they don't have it because of a robots.txt exclusion. Google doesn't have it either, probably for the same reason. Hopefully somebody has it saved on their computer.
Underball #5 Posted August 3, 2010 It's not completely necessary, as they all work fine from my harmony on that 7800. Just curious as to why it disappeared more than anything else.
Underball #6 Posted August 6, 2010 Found it! See attached. It's REALLY EASY. removing one capacitor is all that's required. What I did was this: Since I added the A/V mod, and removed the RF unit, the old Channel 3/4 switch was no longer being used. So I disconnected it's pins from the motherboard, and then clipped one leg of the capacitor (but not the other), and wired up from teh center pole of the switch to where the capacitor was clipped from the mobo, and then from one of the outer pins of the switch to the clipped leg of the cap, so it acts as an on/off switch for the circuit. Full compatibility at the flip of a switch, and no need to further mod the case to get it!!!
