Mark_Coleco
Heres some reviews of software for the ADAM that allows you to copy cartridges to ddps, one ddp pack can hold upto I think 16 games, 8 is normal. There seem to be some limitations with games over 24k and some games check if the game is loading from ROM or RAM and it won't work. Knowone in recent times have made a Superior copy program as of yet... http://www.theadamresource.com/reviews/multi&cartcopy.html http://www.theadamresource.com/reviews/multicart2.html

Mark_Coleco
You can get them for 4 or 5 fives dollars each. Or buy a bunch and save a buck or two on each tape. Try Bob at http://ann.hollowdreams.com/adamsupplies.html To get a bunch(i forget how many) from Ecoleco, but you have to reformat these ones to make them blank. I believe CopyCart+ and the other copy programs will reformat them for you. Edited August 8, 2010 by Mark_Coleco

I believe CopyCart+ and the other copy programs will reformat them for you. CopyCart does not do a format per say where all the blocks on a Data Pack (256) or standard Disk (160K) are cleared. What it does is INITialize the first two blocks (block #00 is the boot block and Block #01 is the directory) and then it writes a control/menu program to the media that is used to select what rom file you want to load. The remainder of the blocks on the DDP or Disk still contain the old information that was written to it, but not visible in a directory listing and will be overwritten by any new files written to it. To test, using a Block Editor like the one in File Manager and view some randowm blocks, you will see all the old info. As far as the different CopyCart versions that are available... make sure to stick to CopyCart+ D2.0 as this will allow for the copying of ALL ColecoVision cartridges up to 32K in size and the menu program is controlled via the hand controller, not the ADAM Keyboard. Mark_Coleco
I did not know that. I figured CopyCart laid down its own format, special so it boots etc.. The built in "format" converted one of my SmartFilers ddp into a usable tape for carts. I thought I might need the Commercial version of FileManager to format it,(writes 00's I think to each block) Before I can use it as a blank ddp. Okay, now I understand.
