Atari in the news...

Recommended Posts

Does anybody else have the kneejerk reaction to tune out and label something as bull the second the term 'zeitgeist' pops up?

Oh well, grab some popcorn and watch atari fail again.

I think that's the same article that was mentioned here in the 2600 forum (although I think this is a better place for it).

Yeah it is, it's the same family of newspapers.

I think this says it all

Together with President Jim Wilson, Lapin is looking to largely bypass the shrinking multibillion-dollar business of selling video games at retail stores and instead to leap into the fast-growing, but still small, digital side of the business.

Don't know much about Atari games post Jaguar but if you haven't made it then obviously you didn't give the customers what they wanted. Yes blame you failure on a shrinking market blah blah blah.....

In the next few months, Atari will roll out an online initiative with updated versions of old favorites such as "Missile Command" and "Centipede" that can be downloaded or played on social networks like Facebook.

LOL so you're just gonna recreate old games and drool over the fact that you can collect all the personal info of all the retards willing to give it out to you for some retro game fix on facebook. So um what are you gonna do when facebook becomes a faded fad? Recreate those games on MyFaceBookSpace.com
