Atari: The 80 Classic Games in One

I havent had this happen on other machines, but the other night I loaded this up and found that games will not launch from the standard game menu, the screen goes black and stays hung, showing only a mouse cursor. However they will launch if you go directly to the executable for the individual games and the 2600 games can be launched via command line. I found the 'patch' and applied it but still no luck. Machine is Windows XP SP3 fully patched. Has anyone else encountered this issue and been able to resolve it?
