Chuck D. Head #1 Posted August 17, 2010 Hey, a question; can anyone verify for me if there is any difference between the comic book that came with Star Raiders regular and Sears versions?? Also, if anyone has a loose and lonely Sears Star Raiders box they want to get rid of please pm me. Thanks, Morgan
Philflound #2 Posted August 17, 2010 I can say 99% certain there is no difference. Phil
Chuck D. Head #3 Posted August 17, 2010 I can say 99% certain there is no difference. Phil Thanks! I got a comic in a batch of misc junk so it is not the one that came with my game. If there is a minor difference I wouldnt really care, just wanted to make sure the right one didnt say Sears or Telegames on the front. I would love to find the box, though. Philflound #4 Posted August 18, 2010 I've been doing this long enough and have reliable guides along with experience in purchasing tons of stuff over the years. Though I'm still missing this box too. Phil
zylon #5 Posted August 18, 2010 Just checked mine, both comics are exactly the same. Here's something you can dream about

Skylark68 #7 Posted August 18, 2010 If only it was around 1981-1982 again and I could buy up all the Sears carts...
Philflound #8 Posted August 18, 2010 If only it was around 1981-1982 again and I could buy up all the Sears carts... Probably would be better if it was a little later. At an average of $30 each, you wouldn't have the money back then and most aren't worth that now. Phil

Probably would be more like at least $70 in today's money.

A.J. Franzman #11 Posted August 19, 2010 But if Skylark68 goes back to just the right place(s) and time(s), he could buy up a bunch of Cannon Man and Sears picture label Superman carts, return to the present, sell them, and make just enough money to pay off the debt he incurred from building his time machine in the first place! Good point! haha I guess it is mainly just the experience and not necessarily actually buying them all. Sears used to be an awesome place, with the odor of fresh popcorn in the store, along with an amazing assortment of games and toys. I remember all the black Sears Tele Games boxes as well as some of the Sears specific GI Joe toys from the same time period (I think Sears had a red Cobra version of the MOBAT tank). That would've been the CAT: Crimson Attack Tank. They also had a red HISS set, SMS: Sentry Missile System.
Philflound #14 Posted August 21, 2010 Yeah, Sears was great. But we had an awesome store named Two Guys here in NJ. Not sure how many of these were in the chain, but the store was 3 floors and I remember always hanging out in the toy aisle. Those were the days. Other great stores were Sterns, Bradleys, Caldors, and Playworld. Phil
