dooglehead
Hello, For some reason, when I try to play Sea Battle on my Intellivision, it shows the title screen, but when I press the disk or any other button to play, the game appears to crash. The screen turns green for a split second, then blue for a split second, and then black. The contacts on the cartridge are clean. Is there any explanation to this? Is my cartridge dead or is it a different problem? I am using an INTY II by the way. Edited August 22, 2010 by dooglehead
+thegoldenband
I have a copy of Space Battle that does the exact same thing despite numerous cleanings. I've tried it on several different systems, with the same result. I assume the cause is either bitrot/bad ROM, or some internal damage to a trace on the cart's PCB, but the latter seems less likely since it does reach the title screen. (I had a Frogger cart for C64 that wouldn't show anything at all, and it turned out that a trace on the circuit board had been damaged; after a kind friend routed around the damage, it worked perfectly.)
