djpubba #1 Posted September 1, 2010 Has anyone made up a schematic for the component video mod for Adam (or ColecoVision)?
dooglehead #2 Posted September 1, 2010 I don't know about the Adam, but I did this mod for a Colecovision. It is simple and works pretty good. http://www.benheck.com/Games/Coleco/Video_Mod.htm
Murph74 #3 Posted September 2, 2010 Doogle-- that's the composite mod. Standalone Adam has that natively. Component would be the RGB style cables.
dooglehead #4 Posted September 2, 2010 Oops... sorry, my bad for not reading that correctly.
+5-11under #5 Posted September 2, 2010 If the Adam has a TMS9928A (sorry, I'm not 100% sure which chip it uses), you could get one of these: http://www.atariage.com/forums/topic/153635-component-video-mod-for-colecovision/page__fromsearch__1
djpubba #6 Posted September 2, 2010 Yep, 9928A. That looks nice but I'm more of a DIY'er. Any chance you'd share your schematics?
djpubba #7 Posted September 8, 2010 Bump. 25+ years and nobody's documented it?
+5-11under #8 Posted September 8, 2010 Yep, 9928A. That looks nice but I'm more of a DIY'er. Any chance you'd share your schematics? It's only on paper. I'll try to remember to scan it one of these days. 5-11under
NIAD #9 Posted September 9, 2010 (edited) Has anyone made up a schematic for the component video mod for Adam (or ColecoVision)? The Stand-Alone version of the ADAM actually has 3 video connection options: - RCA cable output to a R/F box for TVs - RCA composite cable output to a monitor (no sound) - 7-pin DIN connector (or was it 5-pin?) to an RGB monitor (yellow RCA plug for video and white for sound) Now the ColecoVision and Exp. Mod. #3 ADAM would need the video mod. available from Yurkie (for composite) or 5-11 (for component) or you could buy one of those video conversion adaptors that are widely available. If you buy the adaptor, you better do your homework as I have read both good and bad about them. Jim Edited September 9, 2010 by NIAD
