NoleOne #1 Posted September 7, 2010 I one that doesn't work and am trying to decide whether I should get it repaired or purchase a working one. My existing one has the problem where it turns on, and you can move in a couple of directions, but it won't move in certain directions. Both controller ports have the same problem. I'd suggest getting a hold of Yurkie, he does great refurbs and mods on the CV, as well as controller overhauls. I've bought three of them from him so I would obviously recommend his services. tz101 #3 Posted September 11, 2010 I got mine from a Craigslist deal for $50. I thought that was a bargain because it came with 26 game carts as well. Didn't come with a power supply, so I had to trust the seller that it worked fine. After buying a power supply for $30 (including shipping) from 4jays.net, I am a very happy Colecovision owner. I paid $80 overall, but wound up with a nice library of games for it too. I compared that to system-only auctions on ebay I have seen priced in the $70-$100 range, so don't think I did so bad. Shop around, and don't forget sites like shopgoodwill.com and amazon.
Mad Hatter #4 Posted September 12, 2010 I got mine off Craigslist as well about a month ago. $100 for a working system with all cables, RF mod, etc., expansion module 1, expansion module 2 (no gas pedal), two super action controllers, 4 atari paddle controllers, 2 standard Atari joystick, and 35 carts (3 for the CV and the rest Atari 2600, most of which are in poor shape with crummy labels). Expansion module 2 doesnt work and some of the controllers dont work either, but Im sure they can be restored. All in all I'm happy with everything. Rik #5 Posted September 16, 2010 (edited) I've been pretty lucky, I've never found a non working CV at thrift shops, where i got all 6 of mine.Up until about 2 years ago, one could be had at Value Village for $7.99.Now of course, they've gone up to $19.99.The VV's here, allow returns which few thrift shops do, so one can't lose. But be prepared to pay twice that or more on Ebay loose, CV's are a hot item there!I've had more bad luck with the CV power supplies than the system itself, very fickle things those power supplies are!
