Lynx game storage

Recommended Posts

Hey all,

Like others, I keep my Lynx II in the large deluxe case, but as you know it only holds 12 games with the system (unless you want to just pile more games into one of the compartments). So I found that a lot of people were using baseball card pages to store additional games, with velcro fasteners to keep them from sliding out of the pockets. Well that is an excellent way to store them, so I started looking around ebay to get some, but then I came across these other pages that are meant to store coins and doubloons. I had seen some like these before, but they had smaller sized pockets (2" x 2"), but didn't know these existed for larger coins, having 2.5" x 2.5" pockets instead.

So, I bought some to try them out, and I really like how they fit. They hold 12 games per page, and are just the right size to fit the game, yet snug enough to keep them from easily sliding out.

Anyway, maybe some of you guys already use these, but I looked around and couldn't find anything mentioned about them around here, so sorry if this is old news. But if you want to get some, just search ebay for "2.5 coin pages". The ones I got were $11.99 for 20 pages, with free shipping in the US.

They are perfect for Lynx games. ;)

Hmmmm, dunno. I don't have any to test out on them. The pockets are a rather fit 2.5 x 2.5 inches and hold lipped games snugly.

If they are snug for the curved lips, then it won't work for the EPROMs. But still not a bad idea

I am looking for a different storage solution now. I need binders that will fit on a shelf 7" deep.

I am hoping to find something bigger than the cases that lynxopoly and Flash card came in. That would be cool to line out a few of those on my shelf!

Great idea! I'll definitely be picking some of these up!

Sweet! You won't be disappointed! :)

They are comfortably snug, but not bursting at the seams. How much thicker does the EPROM make the cart? It may work anyway, but I can't say I know for sure one way or the other.

If these would work with the EPROMs, you could probably cut off the third row so they'd fit in a more narrow binder, or just not use the third row and fold/tape it back. For a narrower binder, you might do best looking for a photo album binder that holds something like 2 4x6 photos per page. Probably could get something like that at an arts and crafts store like Michael's.

There is a risk of ESD damage if you use this solution for the FlashCard.

If you want to use it, i recommend to put always the FlashCard into the little pink ESD bag before.

The FlashCard is not a simple Eprom cart. Eproms are much better protected for ESD than µComs etc.

I'm glad you mentioned that, Lynxman. My flashcart is generally in the Lynx or in the side pouch of the Lynx Kit Case. But I store my carts in baseball card holders (9 per page) and I have a spot designated for it. From now on, I'll keep the Flashcart in the ESD bag in its box. (One thing, tho... if I ever post here that I've lost my Flashcart, can somebody remind me of this post, please? :D )

As for the coin holder sheets (12 per page) that's a great solution for the regular-sized Lynx carts! I suspect you won't be able to use them for EPROMs, as they are snug in my baseball card holders. In fact, I made the mistake of trying to use one for Krazy Ace Mini Golf (it has that overly large black chip cover) and it got stuck! :x Took me a long time to extract it, so now I keep it in the Kit Case.

Still, it is a nice way to display your Lynx games!

Cheers,

Smeg

Yes, thanks Lynxman for bringing that to our attention. If I ever acquire a Flash Card game I'll be sure to remember this. :)

Glad you guys like the pages for regular games. I am happy with them, although I barely have enough games right now to fill one page, not quite two, so far. But I'm working on that. :P
