Mines of Minos, CommaVid my new crown jewel?

Recommended Posts

I got this in a mismarked auction, in fairly poor label condition, with rusted screws under the label. It was not booting, and I had to take it apart to get it to boot. I was very surprised to find an EPROM, but I know ColecoVision carts sometimes used EPROMS. Anyhow, is the Digitpress price guide pretty spot on, do I have a $40 cartridge and the newest crown jewel of my small Atari 2600 collection?

$40 is quite a stretch. A loose MoM in nice condition probably only fetches about $25-$30 or so at most these days, and much less for a copy in poor condition.

BUt it's still a damned uncommon game. Commavid stuff is hard to find. It's very fun too. 'One of those great yet no one ever talks about it' games.

As to crown jewel, that's a subjective thing. Commavid stuff has a slightly higher slant in my library, as they were the last company for me to acquire. Pretty good games too.

Commavid games of any stripe are in the echelon of games that are harder to find than others, so depending on whatelse you have banging around your collection, that could be a crown jewel. Room of Doom is on the only Commavid I have an I am proud to have it!

The DP guide is waayyyyyyy off. I don't really like the use of price guides, but the best one is definitely the one on atari2600.com. It is based on actual ebay sales over the last several years. Most other guides are just a few dudes giving random values to games.
