OldSchoolRetroGamer
Ah OK thanks for the info, interesting. I was just uploading the images for this post as you were replying to my last. I will say the one with serial # ending in 164 (first two images) definitely feels noticeably lighter than the other one. If I did not take the images satisfactorily I can try again, is that what you meant by the back vents ?
OldSchoolRetroGamer
@skintigh OK I gave in 😎 Well, having some time to myself and taking advantage of the minutes where my curiosity actually was greater than my desire to procrastinate 😝 I conclude with these final images. Took them apart, yes removing 5 screws was easy enough, I was temporarily thrown off when they did not separate simply after that but both models seemed to snap together on the sides and front so I was being carefully to not damage, that and the connecting cable between the cover and motherboard for the switches. Obvious to see why one was heavy than the other with all that shielding, also I show the back of the board of the heavier shielded one since the rev # I assumed was covered by the shielding ion the top of the board. Clicking each image should allow you to make out everything you need, I kept the back cover showing the serial # above each board as well. That's it for me, they are reassembled and I kind of have interest retesting them with my Harmony cart soon. 🤔 The lighter model - assembled weight = 1lb 2.1oz / 512g (IS IT JUST MISSING THE SHEILDING OR WAS NEVER PRESENT?) The heavier model - assembled weight = 1lb 6.5 oz / 640g And the underside of the board on this heavier model.

Atari the Jedi
P thought I would share my serial number. Interesting story behind this about 12 or 14 years ago I was in a used video game shop in a guy came in with this they told them they couldn't offer anything for it because nobody wanted Atari That's a guy walked out ready to probably toss it in the garbage can I gave him like 20 bucks for it along with some controllers and some random games. Will that going through the whole thing I don't know if it's a three chip or a one chip or whatever but here is the serial number. This thing was literally saved from the trash 🙂 20230818_131107.mp4
BIGHMW
My third 2600 Jr. just like the others I had in 2016 and also in 2020, a Short Rainbow version, is coming in to BIGHMW.com World Headquarters from Toronto tomorrow afternoon, picked her up on eBay last week for a mere $40 shipped from Toronto, all I need from her now is a power adapter, mainly I intend to get one of those slim-built ones with those new transverse-mounted plug blades so it can fit in a cheap 10-dollar Safeway-bought PRIME power strip in a slimmer form factor like most power adapters are made like nowadays, YAY!!! now I can ditch my Flashback 9 and get to those ARM-based games from @johnnywc John Champeau's Champ Games again!!!

BIGHMW
My third Jr. came in 30 minutes ago, she had been previously chipped but the silver bezel I am proud to say had the factory plastic foil on it in which after I peeled it off revealing nothing but pure beauty, I got the power adapter mentioned in my last post on eBay and it will arrive by Tuesday at the latest!!! here are the pics, after emptying out the loose fragments in her and cleaning her up as well. CAN’T WAIT TO DIG INTO THOSE ARM GAMES!!!

JTMic1
So…haven’t ever been a huge gamer so hopefully y’all will forgive me in advance for any ignorance. I’ve had an Atari 2600, long rainbow as I’ve read, serial number A1 1507863, with 46 games in a plastic storage bin now for about 20yrs… Can anyone tell me more about it? I meant to hook it up and play it with my kids long ago, but never did. Not even sure how to. It seems to have everything with 2 different extra joystick controllers. Would like to know how to clean, hook up, check/test everything… any help or redirection to the right place would be greatly appreciated. Thank you
