Just an FYI for anyone looking for a more modern take on Robotron, Llamatron, and other twitch shooters of the like...check out this URL for Mutant Storm. It features a nine-level demo for your downloading pleasure. I think it's a great game and have ordered the full version.

 

I'd be interested to know what you guys think.

Just played the Windows demo of this -- quite brilliant. Like a fusion of Crystal Quest and Robotron. If you're old enough to know those games, you'll probably appreciate this game. There's a Mac and Linux version, too.

 

I stumbled across the computer versions while checking out the stuff available on XBOX Live Arcade -- the bunch of shareware/shovelware you can play once you've paid $5 for the unlock disc with free full version of Ms. Pac Man. I haven't registered any of the stuff on there yet, since it's mostly overpriced versions of solitaire and Bejeweled, but for the $9.99 they're asking on XBOX, this shall be mine. The computer version is $19.99.
