Nukey Shay #4 Posted September 25, 2010 The guts to hotlink an image? You already beat us to it. For those wondering what the little red X is above, it's the old ad for Chopper Command.

Zoyx #8 Posted September 25, 2010 (edited) Was this the image in the original post? Edit: I guess the answer is yes ... the red x is gone. Edited September 25, 2010 by Zoyx
BigO #9 Posted September 25, 2010 Was this the image in the original post? Edit: I guess the answer is yes ... the red x is gone. I thought that same thing yesterday. I found the URL and went to the page directly. After that, the image placeholder was replaced with the expected Chopper Command ad. Now the placeholder is back. OldAtarian #10 Posted September 25, 2010 (edited) Ah crap. I should have known. It always happens when I link an image. It always gets blocked. Have to find another one now. Let's see how long this one lasts Edited September 25, 2010 by OldAtarian
Nukey Shay #11 Posted September 25, 2010 What for? It was properly linked above by Zoyx. Hotlinking another image is just going to bring the wrath of Random Terrain into this thread that much quicker.
A.J. Franzman #12 Posted September 26, 2010 (edited) Ah crap. I should have known. It always happens when I link an image. It always gets blocked. That is a not-so-subtle hint, but since you're too thickheaded to "get it": STOP HOTLINKING! Why don't you try saving a temporary copy of the file to your computer, then upload it here into your post? Edited September 26, 2010 by A.J. Zoyx #13 Posted September 26, 2010 We had the angry post, I will try the polite post. Hot linking uses bandwidth of the host site, without them receiving credit. It is bad form. Also you may run into the problem of that site going down, or blocking your image... like we saw here. Best way to do it is to host the image locally, and give full and prominent credit to the site you stole it from. I hope we have all learned something today. p.s. Why do all of my posts start with the best of intentions, but then end in a snark. More therapy for me.
