andym00
Mine arrived this morning all safe and sound though had received a good squishing somewhere along the line.. All in good shape though Looks fantastic though with the box and everything.. Very professional.. Thanks a lot for this, for this run, for such an awesome product and the rapid rate of knots it made it here given the time of year.. Tursi
It does seem odd, maybe it's re-syncing somehow, I have no idea & don't want to get into trouble for saying the wrong thing All I know is it works, it's not a big deal & 170-250k/sec is much better than 7k/sec... but if the skunk only worked at 7k/sec I'd still be using it every day... probably just drink a lot more tea between testing things Yeah, I don't understand the why of it either, perhaps someday someone will dig into the USB communication and find out what's going on. For what it's worth, I've had opportunity to see unpowered hubs work as well.
+DarkLord
Okay, got my blank Jag cartridges in - thanks again for that link, and thank you Bruce at B&C Computervisions. Got dremel, got motivation, need some time...and any pictures of anyone actually doing this, just for a general guide? Thanks!
sh3-rg
Got dremel, got motivation, need some time...and any pictures of anyone actually doingthis, just for a general guide? Thanks! I started doing this but never got around to putting it together. I've got the measurements of the two holes on the back part of the case if that's the way you want to go: From bottom corners: 31 to 47mm up 12 to 27mm over That's pretty tight to the curved out part of the USB socket but should be OK. Photos when you're done please & don't forget to make a label (piccy attached to match box, you'll need to do some resizing for printing but there are others out there)

+Stephen
I did not want to cut holes in the back of the case for the two USB ports or the 6-pin header so my first step was to desolder them. The PCB was very nice quality, and the parts all came out very nicely, with no damage to the board. They were saved for possible re-use at a later date. I then drilled a hole deac center of the top of the cart and used a removable USB cable. Note the extremely tight fit inside this case. Onto assembly. Note the nylon wire tie used as a strain relief. Only thing missing is a nice label.

+orpheuswaking
I never thought about removing the USB and header to make it fit, might have to make a new case thats not so ugly
Tursi
Nice build, Stephen! You guys inspired me to pick up a few spare cases to encase my own Skunkboards.

sh3-rg
It all depends on whether oz customs want to check it out/sit it on a shelf for a few weeks/charge you customs duty/fees/GST etc. or if it just flies through and lands at your door.
goatdan
anyone know how long it takes the goat store to ship to aus via express? i ordered a skunk board from there and stated shipped out on the 24th, i understand about the delays over the holidays, i just cant find any eta's on there site, thanks! It's VERY difficult for us to do ETAs for international orders because the border can decide to hold things for a while and we have no idea exactly how long it will take. Having said that, I think that I sent your package on the 26th. I am behind on the packages since then because of the holidays, a sick son and wife, and then when I finally got things together, the post office was already closed. Tonight, I'll be making the rest of the packages, and I have a carfull that I'm dropping off tonight, so it should be out very soon if it isn't already... but I don't remember recently making yours so I'm all but certain it was the 26th. +CyranoJ
Parcels to Oz seem to fall into one of two catagories, regardless of where and when they are sent. The ones that turn up rather unexpectedly 3 days later. And the more common 6-8 week delay

+DrTypo
This your first Jaguar? What were you using beforehand? This is my third Jaguar. I bought the first one back in 1994. However toady it displays a red screen on everything I plug into it. I tried cleaning the cartridge slot but to no avail. Then recently I got a used Jaguar. It works better than my original one but it is still unreliable: a cartridge has to be inserted just right otherwise it's red screen. So I bought a third Jaguar, listed as "new" by the vendor. This Jaguar is indeed in excellent condition. The slot is in a much firmer, the Jag doesn't display a red screen. I use the Skunkboard on this one.
NML32
Stephen, thanks for the pictures. It made the mod easier for me. I also ended up removing both USB ports on either side of the Skunk board. Here are a few pics of mine. Now I just need to print and attach the label. Edit: I forgot to mention I used a Mini USB B 5pin Male to Female extension adapter cable. $1.99 shipped. eBay Auction -- Item Number: 290598237539 Edited January 7, 2012 by NML32
