schuwalker #1 Posted September 28, 2010 I used to have this game as a kid.....I know, I know this game is horrible! Regardless, I remember I couldn't figure out what was going on. Fast forward till recently, still don't know what's going on! I find it kind of weird you just shoot enemies but no score display? Is there something I'm missing here as far as a goal to reach? I know back then this was a budget title but still Wtf.......
Stan #2 Posted September 28, 2010 Hahahahah. The only game I still own by this company is Sorcerer. Mainly for laughs. I believe they all share the same basic code, however, so it should be the same thing. That is, you can get scores, you have to set it properly. I think the default setting on all three of these horrible games is just sort of a practice setting, mess with the select switch to find the score setting. Firefly is mega hard to understand because the graphics are so freaking sparse. At least Sorcerer has some approximation of a background and depth. Nukey Shay #3 Posted September 28, 2010 (edited) All 3 Mythicon games are the same (just a few details and sprite gfx were changed between them). When starting a game with the displayed, this is "practice mode" where no score is recorded. Press select to switch to a scoring game. schuwalker #4 Posted September 28, 2010 Thanks fellas...... albeit I don't think implementing a score is going to help this gem.....
GrizzLee #5 Posted September 28, 2010 (edited) Is it me, or is it my imagination. When you die in the Mythicon games, it appears to give you the "finger" Maybe an inside joke?!?!? -Lee Edited September 28, 2010 by GrizzLee
iwan-iwanowitsch-goratschin #6 Posted September 28, 2010 At least Sorcerer has a nice label................
Chuck D. Head #7 Posted September 28, 2010 HaHa! I bought Firefly and Sorcerer at the crash for a few bucks each and it was still a waste of money. In the same purchase I got Bugs from Data Age, which I hated and Dishaster, which I at least got some fun out of. I was telling a friend about my new games and he said, "so you got three disasters and Dishaster". Funny guy..... Morgan

Chris++ #9 Posted October 1, 2010 I've always felt that Mythicon might have been, if the games offer any evidence, the only company in gaming history where the founder, programmer, accountant, P.R. man and janitor were all the same guy. One thing I've noticed whenever I see the cartridges again is that it's more enjoyable to look at the illustrations on the labels than to play the actual games. What's funny about Fire Fly/Sorcerer/etc. is that you can choose to ignore the bad guys -- so the main point of each game is simply to move from left to right over and over again. It's like a primitive screen-saver that you have to operate manually. But the games serve a purpose, albeit for a very limited audience: If you get really sick this winter and drug yourself up so much that you can barely move, plug in a Mythicon game to get your gaming fix until you get better, and can move on to something more challenging and exciting, such as Canyon Bomber.

Yes, and he also had twin secretaries. No big mystery his mind may have been wandering during development. Development of the games, I mean. Supposedly, the twins were well-developed.
