scogey #1 Posted October 5, 2010 Hey...I just picked up a heavy sixer and a 4 switch from a friend's attic. Whats the best way to connect to a current TV?.....ie a tri color or co-ax? Thanks
Trinity #2 Posted October 5, 2010 Right to the rf input/co-ax. Tune to ch 2/3. Good luck!
tz101 #3 Posted October 6, 2010 Tri-color (component) will not work unless you have modified consoles with white, yellow, and red RCA output jacks (unlikely). If your new gen TV does not have coaxial 75 ohm input, then you will need an RF converter as an intermediate device, or just a decent VCR will do also. Plug the coaxial output from the 2600 console(s) into the coaxial input on either the converter or the VCR, then use tri-color (RCA) cables to connect the converter box/VCR to your TV. Hopefully, your two systems came with at least one operable TV switch. If not, then a Nintendo or Sega automatic RFU will do as well. Hope this helps. A.J. Franzman #4 Posted October 6, 2010 (edited) Yellow, white and red RCA jacks would be composite video, not component. Component would be red, green and blue for video, plus white and red for audio. Also, Nintendo, Sega or any other automatic RF switcher will NOT work with a 2600; the VCS does not supply DC power on its RF output, which those devices need to work. Edited October 6, 2010 by A.J. scogey #5 Posted October 6, 2010 Thanks for the help everybody. I was able to get the part I needed at Radio Shack...luckily the guy there was familiar with my issue. So I fired it up last night and everything is working fine except the power switch is very touchy and the picture is grainy...I noticed when I would move the reset switch or teh difficulty switch (It's a 6 switch model) the picture would go clear as I held the switch...then go back to grainy....anybody ever encounter that? Again thanks all for your help
