Was traveling in Nevada, and decided to stop by the Pinball hall of fame, great retrocade to say the least, next door to it was a classic game shop and I decided to stop in, I ended picking up another game boy advance and a neat Chinese handheld called the Yobo Gameware FC16 Go, here are some pics. Will try and post pics of the pinball hall of fame and the retrogame shop later on. Enjoy.

Hello again, I have a few items to cover today, this particular post is going to be for the Console Front. Today I finally received my Tectoy Zeebo, kind of a neat console from Brazil, sort of like an OUYA or Online game system, in order to play this console it downloads it's games from an online service, it comes with a keyboard and 1 controller, sort of sleek looking with the silver color and blue lighting, and it comes with stickers - neat, however since it is a pal system, you will only see the pictures of the games in Black & white, I did not have my pal converter with me so, no color for you. I do not like this style of game system in the fact that it depends on a service to play, but sadly this seems to be the way all systems are heading towards, no more media and just buy everything online, and when the service closes, oh well that's it, toss it. Not too sure I like where the future is heading with this. Here are some pics.

Continuing the postings, On the Arcade Front, Arcade Odyssey finally went to it's first Convention, Florida Supercon in Miami, Fl - http://www.floridasupercon.com/, this is like Comic con but located in Miami Florida, It was a grueling 5 days, and I mean grueling.

We started by loading a 26ft truck on Tuesday the 2nd,at 7pm that went on till 4am, oh and I had to drop off a new game Friction in the Arcade.

then we had to be at the event on Wednesday the 3rd by 3pm , so we left at 2:00pm, the truck would not go faster than 45mph, and by then it was in 5th gear. heck it was in 5th gear by 37mph, so it was a slow, bumpy ride, once we got there. We unloaded and began to set up till 3am Thursday,

then we dropped off the truck before getting to bed at around 5am Thursday, now the event was opening in 6hrs at 11am, and we had to be there by 8am to continue getting everything ready. The event would run till 7:30pm nightly, we cleaned up and finished by 9:00pm Thursday night then left, went to my office and continued working on an Indiegogo launch that we are running in order to launch for the worlds first console video game museum, we finished at 5am Friday,

then we had to be at the event at 9:00am Friday and ran till 9:00pm running the event and then we cleaning up and went home, by now slightly in a stupor,

Saturday I had to pick up truck at 8:00am run back home get in my truck and get to the supercon by 11:00am, the line to drive in was over 1 mile long and I had to end up parking 4 blocks away, then ran the event all day till 8pm and cleaned up left by 9:30pm,

on Sunday I got to the my office reboot some servers, go by the arcade leave the indiegogo poster and get to event by 9:00am, I then left the event by 5:30pm to go pick up the 26ft truck at my home, drove back to the event, loaded the truck and then drove back to the arcade to unload the games, drove to my warehouse to unload the rest of the gear and then drove the truck back to Penske rental company, ate dinner and got home on Monday @ 3am.

I gotta tell you being 45 definitely takes it's toll on you when you do this repeatedly for 5 days. Here are some pics of our booth at the event and you can see more on our facebook page at www.facebook.com/arcadeodyssey.

Finally, as many of you know, when I built the arcade I was not able to create my ultimate vision of what it should be, now that the arcade has gained momentum and popularity, I wanted to move ahead with what I originally designed, however the fact that I am charging so little to come and play at the arcade 1-2 token per play, and our rent is so high over $6k not including anything else, I realized that it was going to take forever to make my original dream happen, so to try and rush it along, I decided to launch an indiegogo campaign http://www.indiegogo.com/projects/arcade-odyssey-museum-ultimate-expansion/x/3097549?show_todos=true to help purchase a building and build out a 5000 sq ft console/pc/handheld museum, a 15,000 -20,000 sq ft arcade with pinball, a 3000 sq ft comic book store with the latest issues + statues and manga items, a 3000 sq ft restaurant/Japanese maid café, a karaoke bar, a themed card gaming center with different rooms for pokemon, dungeons and dragons, magic the gathering, and warhammer, and a few others. Several dance/rock band stages with 10 ft projector screens, a laser light show arena, separate pc and console gaming / tournament areas with streaming for competitions, basically a giant ComicCon type super gaming mall, I will be bringing in all my life size replicas and adding a few others, the ceiling will have sci fiction spaceships and robots with controlled lasers firing between different items across the ceiling. The real funny thing about this is we have almost everything we need to get this going except for the building, and that is what is killing us, we found several locations that would be ideal and would meet the zoning requirements of Miami Dade county for an Arcade/Entertainment complex, but each of the location costs several millions of dollars. And we do not wish to rent or lease the properties as several arcades and pinball locations had been forced to close here is a list

this is in the last 2 1/2 years, all of them have closed due to landlord & rental management problems

Sega Funland - London, England

On 3 July 2011, Funland was shut down. This was due to a long running dispute with the landlord over rent.

Sega Park - Southampton, England

This Sega Park opened in 1996 and was located on the first floor of the Bargate Shopping Centre in central Southampton. It closed on 30 January 2013 after all traders inside the shopping centre were given notice to leave due to the ongoing sale of the property.

Chinatown Fair Arcade - New York

March 11 2011, A rent dispute forced Chinatown Fair to shutdown.

National pinball Museum - Baltimore, Maryland

On March 3 2012 National pinball museum is shutdown; Director David Silverman said "Despite our best efforts, we were unable to negotiate favorable terms with our landlord to extend our rental agreement without creating an extreme financial strain on the museum's limited resources,"

Planet Zero Arcade - Houston, Texas

May 9th, 2012, planet zero shutdown, confusion in change of property management, negotiations, & legal battles with landlord.

As everyone here pretty much knows, I have built up Arcade Odyssey in the last 1 1/2 years from nothing to the best and most popular arcade in S Florida, If not the whole South eastern US, with everything from multiple weekly video podcasts to now getting ready to incorporate my personal console collection which encompasses over 300 consoles from around the globe into the world's first video game museum – not pinball or arcade only, even though they will also be part of it.

But it would really be horrible to watch it close or lose my dream of finally building one of the greatest arcades ever to a greedy landlord or management company who wants to double our rent because they feel they deserve more money because the venue is doing well - yes this actually happened to one of my peers in the arcade industry. A friend of mine named R. Rodriguez whom had an Arcade/Sports bar in Venezuela, he was forced to shut down, by a management company that doubled his rent because they saw he was doing very well, he could not afford to pay this blatant extortion and was also shutdown 3 years after opening.

So with the Indiegogo, we are looking at purchasing the property and thus controlling our own destiny without the fear or seeing it go away like so many others, unfortunately Miami Real estate prices are pretty exorbitant thus the need for such a large sum, we have already found a location of approximately 50,000 sq ft but it is about 6 million - yes you read that number correctly, then we must renovate and hire additional staff + get more games and finally put away money for at least 1-2 years while we grow the venue, so even at $7 mil we are cutting it pretty close, I have already starting talking with my bank & credit lines in order to help catch whatever additional purchases we may need so we may proceed with this project, if it starts to get off the ground.

I know what you are all thinking, that this is a very long shot, but hey we have to dream right? If you guys can donate anything, thank you in advance, if not, you can still help spread the word, if enough people know about this then maybe, just maybe, it can happen, or at least get me close enough to make some or most of it come true.

See you next time.

Rick

Well guys as you know I launched the Indiegogo campaign to grow the arcade and create a gaming museum like no other, well the requests keep coming in that everyone wants to see the collection that will be encompassed by the museum, so without further adieu, I present about 85% of my collection, I could not reach the rest of it because it got sealed behind the garage doors and by the time we realized it, we were so tired that we just said, well take the rest of the pics later, but for now, it is a pretty good start. Here are the image, it is almost 5am and im done for. Don't forget to check out our indiegogo campaign at http://www.indiegogo.com/projects/arcade-odyssey-museum-ultimate-expansion/x/3097549?c=home.

Many Thanks

Here is another one for the console lovers out there, from Russia none the less, this is the Dendy Jr, Pal signal just like the zeebo, which explains the b&w image on the screen, run on 220v plug, so I converted that down to 110v, I also went through the whole list of games that it comes with in order to show everyone what you get with this, it is very light and feels flimsy, but the games play very well regardless of how cheaply made it looks and feels. Here are pics for you to enjoy.

Here are some more for you console lovers out there, I just got a few more systems on the way and the first batch arrived, My first one is a Game Joy Poke Fami DX - basically another one of the those pocket famicon players out there, but this one was sort of neat, first it came with a stand, which was pretty neat, but it did not stop there, it also had separate controller ports and you could disable the 1st port and use the game as the primary controller, the screen was pretty crisp, and of course the system allowed you to hook it up to your tv through composite output cables, but as I was getting ready to pull the batteries out to store it, I realized it is a rechargeable system, not too shabby for a pocket clone machine. Now my 2nd one is a Sharp Famicom Box an-560, it came with 10 games, and you could take it up to 15, the carts were proprietary on this one with a limited list of titles, it did not come with the side holder, and I had to take a drill to 1 of the locks to get the front open, you can see the locks in the pics, but overall in pretty good shape, all the games work and I tested all the slots, so now im looking for another 5 titles to fill it up and then store it away, It did however come with the original manual, which looks as it was put together by some one, but no I found out that it is how it originally came, gotta love the japs., Anyhow very late, should be receiving a few more in the next few days. Enjoy the pics and Goodnight.

Rick

Oh I almost forgot we got a real star -Wacka Flacka Flame - to endorse the arcade - hey do not knock it, I appreciated it and he did it out of kindness of his heart. Check it out here

And another Console, this one was known as the Bandai or Takara Video Challenger, I have been hunting for this one for a while, and finally ran across one, This one however was labeling GIG Video challenger and it was in PAL format and from France to boot, they are all the same system just sold through different brand names, here are some images.

<p>Here is another console that has just been added to the collective. It is a funvision 64 in 1 . It is a European atari 2600 pal clone. Looks sort of like a 2600 jr. It has 64 atari 2600 games built in, which is pretty neat, and i got it with 2 2600 carts in their boxes, breakout and dark chambers, not super rare titles but a nice plus.here are some pics, enjoy.

Just received another rare console today, the Sega Teradrive, a nice mix between sega megadrive and pc, these pc's are unique in the fact that the pc can fully interact with the mega drive, unlike the Amstrad megapc which cannot. I did not get a keyboard or mouse with it :( , but still a great system none the less, I am ordering a sega black ps/2 style keyboard and I need to find a sega tera mouse to try and complete it, I have got to open it up why I get a chance and see if the 30meg hd is in there. I just turned it on and saw it has a whole 2.5megs of Ram, hey don't laugh, that used to be a crap ton of memory back then. Any how here are some pics for you to enjoy.

Very true scooter, unfortunately there are not too many unique consoles left for me to get, but as everyone knows I diligently keep searching, also if anyone has any to add to my lists please ring in and let me know.

Here is the current updated list of consoles, the Arcade pcb one has gotten so large it would take me a couple of weeks just to sort through all the boards, so we will have to hold on that one for now.

Now I should mention that these lists do not include all the duplicate ,triplicates, quintuplicates, etc, that I have on some of these systems, for example I have 9 gamecubes, you get the idea, nor does this list include the tons of games that I have for all of them, except however for my laserdisc collections, i'm particularly proud of those, so those are listed.

Let's begin my updated lists by listing consoles that I know I am missing.

Actual Missing Consoles

---------------------------------------------

RDI Video Systems Halcyon - have 2 ld players + football disc, missing the main system + game carts + keyboard + headset

Olivetti envision 400 P75 / P90 - missing wireless keyboard and software, need to fix current unit

Nintendo Computer Tv Game CTG-HC10 - nintendokonpiyuta

Zemmix CPG-120 - yes I already know I already have a Zemmix console, but this one can play MSX2+ games, so I have to get it.

You also missing the monitor, which is mostly the case with Teradrive's nowadays. I got mine from Sega headquarters London, UK, but missing the special Teradrive software.

awesome room dude! and i love how you just have a 3d imager sitting in a box as if its no big deal :P i would be putting it in a glass case and hiring guards to protect it... well, something like that anyway

Thanks Ilovethevectrex, I'm glad you liked it, Currently i have 3 vectrexes, and 2 - 3d imagers, and i agree it is a great system, i need to get more overlays though.
