zylon #51 Posted October 16, 2010 Seriously, you're in for a great time with a Saturn. I've had mine since early 98 and I still love it. Here's my Saturn games below. Maybe they'll give you some ideas on what was available.

Animan #53 Posted October 16, 2010 Sonic 3D Blast is a love-hate thing. I think the worst mistake Sega did with this game was make it a Sonic game. Had they made a Flicky sequel (which the game is inspired by), then people might have liked it better. Personally, I think Sonic 3D Blast is a great game, but others will want to argue. the.golden.ax #54 Posted October 16, 2010 Maybe that is why I like Sonic 3d so much. Flicky is one of my favorite games on Genny. AX

The_Laird #56 Posted October 17, 2010 My brother has been over this weekend and we have been playing on my Saturn nearly all weekend. He has always enjoyed retro gaming but has never taken the plunge buying anything, he just has an XBox 360. But today he declared that he really wants to buy a Saturn now as there are just so many great games he loves. Another one converted
4Ks #58 Posted October 18, 2010 Phwew, never mind about that last post. My dad got it working by taping the disk tray switch shut. I guess this means I'll be playing Midways Arcade Hits shortly.
Hitachi #59 Posted October 18, 2010 Fun stuff. I've not played that, but I'm guessing joust, defender, robotron, and sinistar?

4Ks #65 Posted October 19, 2010 By the way, I have 2 things I have been wondering about: How many save games can the internal RAM hold, and can I use any RAM cart to play imports?
The_Laird #66 Posted October 19, 2010 It totally depends on how many blocks the game uses, but not alot! No just the Action Replay ones I think
Sonic R #67 Posted October 19, 2010 the Saturn has only 400 blocks of memory - not very much at all… the official Sega Memory cart has 8000 blocks of memory and some of the aftermarket 3rd party ones have up to a whopping 16,000 blocks! the RAM cart (1meg, 4meg, or 1-4meg) won't allow for import play. the action replay + cart is the way to go about to play import Saturn game… of note, the action replay does not allow for direct saves like the official memory cart. files must be saved to the system and then transfered to the action replay…
zylon #68 Posted October 20, 2010 (edited) You can use a Gameshark as well to play imports. The downside is that you can't save directly to the gameshark or action replay. You have to copy to it or from it. Edited October 20, 2010 by zylon

Doesn't Racketboy have a RAM cart whose sole purpose is to save games and play imports?
zylon #70 Posted October 20, 2010 I've never checked into it. I just restart my Saturn and copy my saves from system memory to the cart. I always start without a game in it and copy the save I'll be using to the system. Having something else would be more user-friendly. For domestic games, I just use a memory card. 4Ks #74 Posted October 20, 2010 Anyone know where to get replacement cases for Saturn games? Just buy some cheap, crappy Saturn game and use the case from that.
+wood_jl #75 Posted October 20, 2010 Unfortunately, due to the fact they used the same suck-ass materials as CD jewel cases but with much higher stress points and decades of age, it's not easy to find Saturn (or Sega CD) games with GOOD-to-EXCELLENT cases, and it's pretty much impossible to find a lot to replace yours.
