Awesomepants
So I recently bought a sega genesis and it came with 7 games for $20, 4 of wich were for the genesis. The thing is, 2 of them were Sonic 2 carts, and one had a "not for resale" emblem like in the pic below. I'm going to sell one but have no idea wether the NFR cart is worth more or less than the normal one. Anybody know?
djpubba
Less. It was the pack-in with the system so it's common as dirt.
Video
Probably depends on where you live. In my neck of the woods, NFR Sonic, and Sonic 2 carts are dirt common. I have 3 NFR's myself, but only one 'regular' version (I say "regular" because I think the NFR version is probably the normal version honestly) I've come across dozens of NFR carts, but I have 3 that were given to me for free, so never saw a reason to pay for one...I might be tempted to pay a buck or two for a standard version, but as far as I know, they are the exact same game internally, so I'd really gain nothing over a label variant. fiddlepaddle
There are two kinds of "Not For Resale" labels: one with an actual sticker stuck onto the label and another with the "sticker" as part of the ink of the label. I think the one with the actual sticker on the label is a bit more rare. Edited October 18, 2010 by fiddlepaddle
Video
Cool, I never saw one with the sticker as, well, a sticker All the ones I've ever seen the "sticker" is just printed as part of the label.
Koopa64
My Canadian copy of Sonic 1 has actual "Not for Resale" stickers on the cartridge's front label and on the back of the box insert (not on the plastic part, paper).

Oops, I'm gettin' old I think. I was thinking of the Sonic 1 label, which comes in both versions (actual sticker and printed sticker-like label). Not sure about Sonic 2 now... chrisbid
sonic 2 is one of the most common non-sports games on the system. the game isnt worth much in either flavor.
yuppicide
I say EVERY Sonic is common as dirt pretty much.
Atarifever
Man, Robotnik really seems to hate the number 2. He's not even looking at Sonic.
Austin
Man, Robotnik really seems to hate the number 2. He's not even looking at Sonic. Considering he doesn't have a pair of eyes, it's tough to see where he's looking.
chrisbid
I say EVERY Sonic is common as dirt pretty much. sonic 3 and sonic and knuckles were never packins during the genesis' heyday. they are a tad less common and can fetch 10 bucks for complete copies
