Keatah #1 Posted October 28, 2010 I'm just looking for simple chart, nothing else, nothing as complex as the atariage database; that lists all the atari games and their telegames equivalent. Something as simple as text file will do nicely. k

zylon #4 Posted October 28, 2010 Isn't Steeplechase and Submarine Commander Telegames only? and Stellar Track. Those are the only 3 I know of. Possibly Quest for Quintanna Roo because I've only seen Telegames boxes. Someone else will chime in to correct me, I'm sure.
OldAtarian #5 Posted October 28, 2010 Isn't Steeplechase and Submarine Commander Telegames only? Were these games Atari rejected and let Sears have, or did Sears go out and find them someplace else? Or were they meant to be Sears exclusives?

I think you're thinking of the Telegames that released PAL games in Europe. I don't think that was the same as Tele-Games, which was Sears in house brand. I think Telegames was Intellivision/M-Network since a lot of their games used the same box art as M-Network games in the US. That is correct, Sears Tele-Games is completely different from Telegames. Sears released mostly the same games as Atari (but many under different titles), plus the three Sears exclusive games that were developed by Atari (Steeplechase, Stellar Track and Submarine Commander). Telegames was primarily a reissue label that sold mostly titles originally published by Mattel and Sunrise, plus a few others.

psquare75 #12 Posted October 29, 2010 When I was really little, like, under 10, (pre 1990) I remember those baggies in KayBee Toys, on a wire rack, on the side of the newer video game case which was locked.. Atari games were like $6.99 or $7.99.

SpaceDice2010 #16 Posted November 1, 2010 Isn't Steeplechase and Submarine Commander Telegames only? Were these games Atari rejected and let Sears have, or did Sears go out and find them someplace else? Or were they meant to be Sears exclusives? They were meant to be Sears exclusives. Basically Atari didn't feel that they would make enough sales to put them out as regular Atari releases.

OldAtarian #18 Posted November 3, 2010 (edited) Dont forget the Telegames Atari games Is that genuine? Yep It's added. Never knew these bags existed. Do you own any others as well? Wait, you didn't classify this differently as other Atari labeled carts, did you? Once they were outside the bag, there would never be any way to tell the difference. I think only a game released with a Telegames label should be called a Telegames cart. Buying a bunch of surplus Atari carts and putting them in a baggie shouldn't count as a new game since those carts would already be reflected in Atari's official production numbers. Pioneer4x4 #22 Posted November 3, 2010 I went through the database on AtariAge and found these changes to your list. missing - Golf (sears) = Miniature Golf (atari) correction - Arcade Pinball (Sears) = Video Pinball (Atari) addition - Math (Sears) = Basic Math (Atari) = Fun With Numbers (Atari) note: Maze and Slot Racers are not marked as "Related" in AtariAge database (I know they are, maybe Al can correct?). Fixed. I actually had Arcade Golf on the list originally, but it got clipped when I edited the list to put in alphabetical order. Thanks for the other corrections and additions. Pioneer4x4 #25 Posted November 3, 2010 Thanks for the other corrections and additions. Let me know if you see anything else. Nah, I'm done. I knew of the first one, and for kicks, I opened up each Sears title in a new tab and compared to your list. For a while I would not collect Sears at all unless it was one of the Sears unique titles. I was only collecting for actual game variations. I found it kind of odd that the 3 Sears only games are all grouped together alphabetically!
