Games that feel good to play

Here's a possibly interesting, what's-the-whole-point topic for the AA brethren! The games that I find myself returning to with great regularity simply feel good, in terms of the mechanics; the successfully implemented brain-to-hands grace and fluidity; the very sensation of the game-play and its addictive aspects, quite apart from whether or not one cerebrally finds the same games to be designed well. (Funny how difficult that is to articulate.) Mine are Superman, Adventure, Dodge 'Em, Save Mary, Frostbite, Yars' Revenge and, oddly enough, Spacemaster X-7. I'm sure there are a few others I'm missing.

Well compared to the other "fake" versions of Crystal Castles, there's something about the 2600 cart that just feels right to me. In the others, I stumble around & bump into walls, etc. & rarley ever pick up more than a few gems in succession.

Playing the cart version, I speed up the ramps & scoop up gems easily. Maybe it's the CX40 joystick vs. other controllers, IDK.

I find myself Playing Centipede, Space Invaders, Video Pinball, Journey Escape, Missile Command, and Super Challenge Baseball most often. Some for the fluid play, like Centipede and Missile Command, and some for the long standing rivalry with my oldest brother (Super Challenge Baseball).
